It’s not all companies. It all depends on their audience. If you have a company with a very liberal audience, then if you do something ‘woke’ it shouldn’t negatively affect your revenue.
Your marketing MUST match your audience.
Why Bud Light created a disaster is because their audience was primarily RIGHT wing conservatives and they used an extremely LEFT wing liberal marketing campaign.
What it did was completely alienate its audience and caused them to boycott Bud Light, creating a massive drop in sales.
They wanted to get a hold of left wing market share, made a super left marketing campaign, did not successfully tap into the left wing market, while simultaneously losing a significant amount of customers who were right wing. (Which were their main consumers.) So they basically tried to get both left and right and ended up with neither.
As for Disney, it’s hit or miss. Moana was phenomenal. But some other things they’ve put out have been just poorly written propaganda. It’s lazy writing that’s hurting them — not the woke part.
Whether it’s introducing a new movie or launching a marketing campaign, it needs to be well-executed, otherwise it’ll just be a disaster.

It's simple. The far right spent years complaining about nonexistent "cancel culture" so that their base felt good about engaging in it. So, now it is wielded like a scalpel to cut out business rivals of right wing businessmen, to increase profits by reducing competition (instead of by creating a superior product).
So "go woke go broke" has basically the same role as the Spanish inquistion. Not far off in terms of participants and methods, tbh - Christian nationalists and bullying.

I don’t think they do. It’s a catchy phrase but even the hardest hit companies in the topic, such as Bud Light, Disney, or Target, are massive multinational corporations worth hundreds of millions. They can lose a substantial part of their profits and still be quite wealthy.
I personally vote with my wallet and have stopped patronizing some companies because of their liberal ideologies. Ben & Jerry’s, Target, and so on. (…and you couldn’t get me to drink a Bud Light for $100!). While they won’t “go broke” I do think their profits are are the only way is regular consumers can make our voice and opinions be heard. When you market to a small minority of people you have a small market. If you use to market to people in general and had a large market, you likely like produced a lot of product and as a result had a high overhead. When the market contracted, you were overextended and still had high expenses. As a result you need to liquidate your assets and restructure your company to be much smaller form factor to only service that smaller market you targeted.
Easy. They dont. Companies that goes "woke" tend to be more successful, it is a business decision and it has an established positive track record which is why companies keeps doing it.
You see it every year like for example during pride month. It is something they do to rake in the money and enhance their branding, and its working. Republicans love to imagine that the companies are being punished for this but its simply not the truth.
They don't. The video is full of shit assertions with no basis in fact.
Marvel spent more on CGI than writing a quality script, Budweiser meant for the ads to be tongue in cheek, not taken serious. etc
It's fuck all to do with "woke" and more to do with, ivy league educated idiots who have never worked a proper day in their lives, trying to peddle to the working classes.
I don't think anyone wants to be preached to on thier belief system. I think if they have started putting Christian symbols on thier product it would receive much the same response.
I don't think most people care about lgbtq... xzy (or whatever other letters they got now). I think people just want to enjoy thier bud light in peace.
entertainers get more recognition than they deserve
time to put more recognition back into the builders of our infrastructure
Because customers do not want to support their ideologies.
How many went broke? I was hearing people looked into this and many of the companies were not going broke that were woke, but actually making money.
Mainly because their target audience is not woke and essentially alienated them.
Woke is a fake word. No such thing as woke
