Why do courts always force the victims of a crime to be questioned last, and force them to have to stay the whole day?

Shouldn't the victim be questioned on the stand first? and be allowed to leave soon after if they have answered all of the questions that they have been asked.

Our legal system gives the defense greater rights and privileges because of how overwhelming the state and government has power over an individual person.

So the defense has a right to face their accuser. So the victim must stand against any accused abuser of law in a courtroom. That is also the jurys orders to give the defense a benefit of the doubt. It's the accusers burden to make a case and present evidence and to hold strong to said evidence.

Any accusers that hides away under a mother's skirt isn't strong enough to seek justice. You truly have to overcome an abuser power and seek justice no matter how hard it is or scary it is.

I get the victim has to go to court and face the other person I was wondering why the victim is the last to be put on the stand to be questioned. Shouldn't the victim be the first one question

Who's getting question first?

You build your case starting your victim. From there you get expert opinions.

Maybe the defense can throw some curve ball that the prosecution can't answer and that's how good defense plays things.

I'm not sure it works like that unless they make u stay so u can be cross examined

Unfortunately in some cases this does happen. Victim has to wait last. So basically they are asked questions from both sides last. They are also forced to sit there the entire day as well.

I worked in a court as a cleaner and the poor Victim despite having her ex breach his conditions and the courts and police orders, the courts forced her to sit there the entire day at court and they left her to last to question her, so she had to sit there for 6 hours while her violent ex sat nearby. There were like 8 police officers there surrounding her at all times. They had to even go with her when she needed to use the bathroom.

Clearly ahe was needed their in that instance and was probably chosen as last to speak to leave the jury thinking about her if the police was with her tho I don't see why it would be a issue yes its wpuld be hard but thats the process

There is no jury. Only a judge to decide if the victim was assaulted or not
