Because it's not their fucking problem.

Think about it. Gaza is right next door to Egypt. Egypt has a lot of Muslims, if Gazans want a "two state solution" you might think that Egypt could annex Gaza, Egypt could take over government functions and everybody could chill the fuck out.

But why would they do that? What's gonna happen if there's STILL a residual Hamas supporting sentiment, and they continue to attack Israel? Now Egypt is harboring terrorists. Is Egypt gonna take responsibility for policing Gaza? What's the president of Egypt gonna say if that were to happen? Sorry bro, we policed them as best we could but you know how they are? We completely denounce our citizens and they don't represent the Egyptian people?

The simple answer is that everybody that is an established state has their shit sorted out, and nobody wants get involved in a dicey situation when there's literally ZERO upside. The legitimate governments of the Arab world have actual practical responsibilities to their constituents and pie in the sky dreams of a renaissance complete with a Caliphate isn't something that's gonna get them reelected, or help them maintain their power base.

I can only talk about my time in Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, UAE and another country, but the locals always said Palestinians are filthy dogs that do... sexually deviant things that involve feces. Not just the typical Iranians hate Iraqs and will tell you in no uncertain terms. Mentioning Palestinians usually made them spit. I never got a good answer why. It was "yay they kill jews" and everything but the one Palestinian that I worked with... they wouldn't even shake his hand. It was something to see, truly.

Last time Egypt let in refugees from Gaza, their King was assassinated.

because they don't want to weaken the claim to the land by allowing people to leave. it's a fairly callous political decision giving priority to the stakes of abandoning the land over the safety of human people

so essentially they aren't accepting refugees because if they abandon the land they may lose the claim to it

Look at what they did when Lebanon and Jordan hosted them in decades past. They also supported Saddam Hussein in the first Gulf War, which got them kicked out of the Gulf countries.
