The U. S. constitution is unique in the way it was written so that it is hard to override.

The desensitization of power helps, but the bill of rights which forces the government to respect our natural rights, forces the government to have a fourth system for checks and balances due to the 1st and 2nd amendments. These allow for a grievances to be addressed, and if push comes to shove, a revolution.

The moment the U. S. loses those, we become like any other nation.
