What made America great was equality of opportunity, fairness of laws, freedom of speech, and limited government. Does that describe America today?

Do those things describe America today? Absolutely NOT no. It should. It still sounds like it does. However…
Equality of opportunity has become opportunities for women and women only because apparently men have all the opportunities already.
Freedom of speech, women are the only ones given a voice while men are demonized and laughed at for having a voice unless their voice is being used to empower women.
Limited government? Do we have a limited government? When women believe they should rely on daddy government instead of their partner?
You obviously aren't black. (See:Slavery, manumission, brief Reconstruction, impostion of Jim Crow laws [South;de facto Jim Crow, North);lynchings, false imprisonment, housing, education and occupational discrimination; suburbs expressly forbidding blacks to live;Sundown Towns where blacks couldn't be seen after dark;after the Civil Rights and Voting Rights Acts, anti-Black backlash REPIGLIKSWINE used to wean racist whites from the DUMBOCRATS;mass incarcerations;unjustified police killings and other cop brutality. Shall I continue?
Am I referring to blacks?
John F. Kennedy. Ask what you can do for your country. I repeat that often. "Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try."
I think it does describe America today but you can't go around committing crimes and expect nobody to do anything.
"Not because it is easy, but because it is hard!" - JFK
Blacks have had crimes committed against us by America since 1619.
@handsomelad70 All races commit crimes against other races. Slave trading was started by African tribes committing crimes against their own race and tribes. Caucasians also traded slaves by committing crimes against themselves. Native Americans also committed crimes and traded each other as slaves. South Americans traded themselves and sacrificed one another. Caucasians also sacrificed one another. It's a trend throughout history in all countries. I think of all the atrocities of the world I would rather not have been Jewish in the time of The Third Reich. We can't go on and about the histories of the world forever. To say that any race in Anerica is not committing crimes against other races right now would be a fantasy. That was not the idea of what I said. It doesn't matter who you are crimes should be punished.
@handsomelad70 And did you notice that the Republicans (GOP) were against slavery? The Democrats were not. It's funny how they can tear down Confederate statues but support the Democrats and Mr. Biden.
@Sharkstealth Well said Sharky!
"Come and everything will be given to you!"
This only applies to the illegals pouring across the border. What other country on Earth will give you free lodging, free medical care, free food, free cell phone, and a debit card with $10,000 on it? Did you ever notice that legal immigrants don't get that? Nor the homeless, homeless vets, poor, or elderly who can't even afford their rent? Our government is doling out money to everyone except the Taxpayers. For them they hire 87,000 IRS agents to make sure we pay every penny in taxes. Land of the free?
every empire or regime has its own peak n part of greatness
common point then all of em r meant to fall after certain period of time
Which is what America is doing now... falling into terminal disrepair.
@handsomelad70 indeed

It has never described America but rather describes what America strives for.
We were never "GREAT" We used take-overs of Indian land, Slavery, take-over of countries, and have started un-matchable numbers of wars... Wake up!
Er. What wars did we start?
@Daniela1982 sorry i don't have all day to type please Google
You made the comment so it is up to you to back it up with facts.
@Daniela1982 That's okay. Sounds like you really don't care to find out. It is your job to find out if you still don't know but care.
@Kelley1 Thank you
We didn't start WWII, nor the Korean War for sure. Japanese started us into WWII.
Sorry, but hard to take an anon who can't post as himself seriously. I consider most anons as trolls. You want to talk as yourself, then my replies would be different.
@Daniela1982 Nice try but false. Both Japan and Germany did all they could to keep us out of WWII but against the wishes of the people, FDR wanted us into the that war. He ignored all attempts at diplomacy and blockaded Japan, an act of war. Therefore, definitely the U. S. started it with both Japan and Germany. A pity, you are so uninformed about history.
@Kelley1 That is not what I have read about it. They were torpedoing our ships off the East Coast and could be seen from shore. We were neutral at the time. When the Japs bombed Pearl Harbor, that was it. We did provide supplies to our allies though, which was the UK. If the US had not entered the war the UK would probably be speaking German now. I'm not happy how the US has stuck their noses into other people's business, like Ukraine. But it is what it is. Nothing I can do about it. We have no freedom to dictate to our government how we want our tax money spent. 😫
No it is just the opposite. Why bother to work hard when the government takes most of what you make and give it to people that are too lazy to work. Nobody has any pride anymore. They could stay home and collect a check from the government.
I sometimes get the feeling you're a lovely Russian op trying to stoke the ever-rising flames of discontent.
Those are what it's SUPPOSED to be about
But the country was literally built, on racism
It does not describe America in the slightest.
Not the one we have now anyway.
@Daniela1982 nope.
Not when Trump opens his idiot mouth
