+1 yThen leave. This whole america sucks bullshit is fucking intolerable. Go live some where else, you'll learn real quick why you should be happy with what you got. Why to be proud of america? We are the most progressive society that has ever existed, we fought against tyranny, racism, and classism. We created a society where the poorest amongst us are better off then almost 99% of the rest of the world. We are so free that a pissant like you can insult it degrade it, lie about it, and disrespect it with impunity, yet if you pulled this shit in other nations you would be tortured and executed (you know, like what is happening in china (specifically hong kong and tibet), or Cuba, or Venezuela among many others). Its a nation where a guy can start a business in his garage and then become the richest person in the world (currently Jeff Bezos, previously Bill Gates, for example).
So their are plenty of things to be proud of, but if your not proud of it, if you don't appreciate it, if you hate it so much that you will continue to try and demean and dismantle it, fucking leave. Go to what ever other nation you think is superior and leave my country alone because we don't need you or want you here and you clearly don't want to be here, so we all win when people like you leave and never come back.08 Reply- +1 y
😂 you aren’t in any position to tell me to leave actually so I’m not going to listen too what you have to say if that’s how you start off 😂
- +1 y
What the fuck does that mean? First off, I'm not demanding you leave, I'm not forcing you to leave, I'm saying if all you do is whine and moan about how shitty a country is, how you hate it, how every one is oppressing you, how everything is bad here, then the logical conclusion is to fucking leave. I would never go to a restraunt and say how the food is awful, everything is expensive, the service sucks, and I hate the people I'm with. . . . but I'm going to spend the rest of my night their and do it again tomorrow. That would be fucking stupid, and yet that is precisely what your doing bitching and whining and demanding the world change to fit your wants and then being a pissy bitch when some one points out that NO ONE is forcing you to be here. You can leave when ever the fuck you want, stop acting like your a prisoner.
America, a nation so fucking awesome that every single person who hates it refuses to fucking leave it. - +1 y
Also don't kid yourself, your not listening to what any one says ever unless they tell you EXACTLY what you want to hear.
- +1 y
😂 A. Im only 20 which means I do not have the funds to emigrate anywhere and B. Im not about leave all my family because I don’t like this country m and too me you just want people in America too just ignore all the bad things and sit back idly. If America was as great as you say people like you would actually want to fix problems instead of just ignoring them and then blindly stating that America is the best country in the world. And insulting someone in a debate isn’t going to change their mind 😂 notice how I’ve been civil this whole conversation
- +1 y
Not at all, your young, you don't have as much investment, this is the perfect time to leave the country.
As for for ignoring all the bad things, well first you would have to articulate some kind of bad thing which you cannot so that is the first problem. Second you would have to have some kind of solution beyond tear everything down, destroy every vestige of our society because you at 20 years old knows best. Third, you would have to point to an issue instead of trying to change every single facet of our society and culture i. e. It would be really fucked up for me to point to mexico and say how they have issues ergo they should change literally every thing about themselves, their culture, their values, and make it fit what I think they should care about (which is precisely what your doing). Basically its like saying your being helpful by telling a woman she has to get liposuction, face lift, breast implants, butt implants, wear more makeup, stop being a fat piece of shit, change her hair color, stop liking the things she likes and stop having the opinions she has, change her eye color, wear contacts, and change the way she dresses and then you will love her. . . at that point you've just admited you hate everything about her. Thats what your doing with america. - +1 y
So you know your full of shit, you know that the real reason you won't leave is because we are objectively the best nation in the world and other nations would put you in prison (or worse) for speaking about their nation like you do ours, you know that you would not have any of the opportunities, any of the special privileges you get here anywhere else in the world. That is why you will never leave, because you have it good but you think if you grift, if you play the race card, if you throw enough tantrums you can make things slightly better for yourself by getting a few more special privileges. Thats the only reason why you stay.
Like I said, america is such a great country even the people who hate it refuse to leave. - +1 y
😂 please tell me how I’m supposed to move everything into another country with no big source of income and also as for your analogy this is nothing like telling a women those things 😂 and you are saying it’s wrong to change a country’s society, i fight against racism so if you want to keep racism in American society then you are wrong
- +1 y
Right, every excuse to not actually stay true to your own statements. Of course you can leave, how the fuck do you think people leave the country? Do you think you need to be a billionaire to do that? You leave the country, thats how you do it. Most nations have lower valued currency so 100 dollars is plenty of cash in those nations, you then go and get a job their, build yourself up because you have nothing tying you down. I mean I never thought I would have to explain this to anyone, did you not know that people leave countries to live in other countries all the time? I mean fuck , its harder to come into the US from a third world nation because our currency is stronger yet millions of people do it EVERY FUCKING YEAR. But you can't even do it the easy way?
As for my analogue, yes that is actually very accurate you want to change everything about this nation until its no longer this nation, this is what your fighting for.
No your not fighting against racism, the only racism here is coming from you. You would have to prove that racism exists which of course you cannot, blacks commit hate crimes at far higher rates then whites (150% more likely), black hate groups are as common as white hate groups but are growing far faster despite the fact that blacks are only 13% of the population compared to whites 63% of the population. 80% of all interracial violence and crime is commited by blacks against whites, blacks are more likely to kill cops then cops are to kill blacks, etc. etc. etc. Your fighting FOR racism, which is why you don't belong here, your fighting to make the USA a worse nation not a better one, that is why you don't belong here.

+1 ySo, you live in America, but you don't want to become an American? What's stopping you from heading to another country if you dislike it or have issues with it?
Moving on. The matter of pride comes from culture and values. The fact you can live in a country that gives you tons of opportunities to make something for yourself and give you tons of rights to what you can say, do or believe in without heavy repercussions save for dickeheads that belittle your beliefs from the opposite side of the issues you support, I would say that is a win.
You don't need to be proud by any means, but it stems from what has been ingrained from what we were born into and what we stand for as a nation. Have we done fucked up things- definitely, doesn't mean we are proud of it. It is a part of our history and history is never always good. It is a reminder for everyone of the trials and issues we faced as a country and how we dealt with it to be used as a platform to ensure the past is not repeated.
We are not a perfect country by any means, but we are definitely a country that gives individuals countless opportunities and chances to make their lives better in the long run.10 Reply
Anonymous(25-29)+1 y1. We has the best schools in the world.
2. We can be anything we want. If I want to be doctor, pilot, lawer I can start anytime. I don't because that's freedom.
3. We have guns n free speech. If I want to stand in your street and tell people your a donkey rapist I can and you can't stop me cos of freespeech and my gun.
4. We has best food. We gave the world pizza.
5. We have lots of erections. You can vote in erections on all sorts of things even if you don't understand them22 Reply- +1 y
1. There are schools in other countries that are way better than American schools
2. You can’t simply be any of the jobs you mentioned you have to go to school and there is still no guarantee
3. Many other countries have guns and free speech America isn’t special because of it
4. 😂 you are joking right pizza is Italian and American food is just greasy unhealthy food
5. America most definitely isn’t the only countries where citizens can vote in “elections” - +1 y
@SmokinAces2000 Actually your incorrect. Out of the top ten schools in the world, 8 of them are in the US and the top four are all in the US. www.findtoptenranks.com/.../
Name me a nation that has freedom of speech other then the US? You can't because their are none. People get arrested for tweets in canda, UK, sweden, germany, china, etc. You can't ever be arrested in the US for that. In fact your insulting and belitteling the US with impunity, as do many people (thats what makes us great, you can state things that are provably false as an attempt to slander the nation and you won't be thrown in prison like in other nations. you can burn the American flag and you will suffer no ramifications for it unlike most every other nation).
Our nation is so great, that the Hong Kong protestors, Cuban Protestors, and Venezuelan Protestors waved OUR flag in defiance of their corrupt governments. The grand irony in this being that foreigners, people of other nations show a greater love and respect for our nation then our pampered citizens (who are so pampered that they don't even realize everything they say and do in this nation would get them arrested, imprisoned, tortured, and killed in most others).
Its true plenty of nations you can vote, but not every nation allows it and not every nation has a fair system (ours is actually crap thanks to democrats refusal to instate common sense (and very common) voting laws).

We started at a bad place with enslavement and other constantly not wanting to let everyone get along but part of what I am proud of is that we have the ability to get past those things like we did before.

+1 yI'm not proud of it (nor am I ashamed of it) any more than I am proud or ashamed to be a Chicagoan. I see America as a place versus representing an idea.

+1 yMore people immigrate to the United States than every other country on the planet combined. Actions speak louder than words.
04 Reply- +1 y
That still doesn’t mean anything
- +1 y
So they all immigrate here because it's WORSE than the country they're coming from? I didn't realize that there were so many masochists on the planet.
- +1 y
Just because America is better than some other countries doesn’t mean that America is the best or that I should be proud of it. You don’t see many Canadians emigrate here unless they’re actors and in fact Americans emigrate to Canada
- +1 y
Approximately 33,000 Canadians immigrate to the United States every year. Approximately 9,000 Americans immigrate to Canada every year. Both numbers are prior to the pandemic. Yet we have a far larger population. So I'm not sure where you get your information and statistics.
America preserved the peoples of Europe in WW1 and WW2. Name any other country on earth that sacrificed millions in order to preserve a country that they had no claim on prior and also did not take over thereafter.
01 Reply- +1 y
Erm the UK with Belgium and Low Countries.
Also you need to improve on your maths…Millions?
Let’s not go Hollywood on this and exaggerate what were very noble sacrifices and no one denies being grateful to the US and other countries getting involved in both European conflicts.
However your exaggeration made what could have been a good comment worthless.
+1 yIt’s the greatest country in the world. People who live here and whine “I will never be a proud American” have no clue what the real world is like.
04 Reply- +1 y
And if you were born in any other country you would be saying that exact thing about your country
- +1 y
I don’t think so. Because in a lot of countries, you end up in jail if you say stupid shit you do. And you’re welcome to leave any time you want. No one really is begging you to stay.
- +1 y
😂😂😂 if that’s your whole argument, that I should leave then you need to work on your arguments
- +1 y
I've got plenty more, but since all you do is bitch about RAAAACCIIISSMMM you've established you're thought process is very simplistic. You're not an asset to this country, or even your neighborhood. You're a drain.

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yHave you ever lived outside of America for an extended period of time?
Whether you or other people agree or not. America is the land of opportunity and freedom which most people in the world don't have.02 Reply- +1 y
But that’s the thing I keep hearing that yet there are almost 200 countries in the world and nobody has been to each one so there could be another country that operates better than America so I’m not going to blindly say America is the best country on earth. And also different countries operate in different ways that doesn’t mean they are less than then America
Opinion Owner+1 yI never said America is the best country in the world , nor does it have to be "perfect" for a citizen to feel proud.
It still remains a fact that it's one of the most freed country with huge opportunities, which is why millions migrate there compared to any other country in the world.
The United States where the first country to explicitly recognize individual rights. That is important.

So instead of giving any reasons to be a proud American you suggest that I leave 😂

Precisely
