In the context of the Israel Palestine conflict, I came across some of his videos on YouTube and he happened to defend Palestine, criticising America and Israel. I doubt he Converted to Islam. How could he support Palestine!

Because to many it is not a holy war but rather a proxy war in which the Palestinians are the victims of mass-displacement and maltreatment due to the Israeli settlements. A child born in present day Gaza’s life expectancy is so low that the average age of a Palestinian is under 20. People like Chomsky have a penchant for siding with an oppressed civilian population over an ideological one, which is why most who defend the rights of Palestinians do so without any acknowledgment of the religious differences within the region.
