+1 yWar is a violent method of expanding one’s power and influence at the expense of others.
It’s cutthroat and zero-sum. It’s unkind, cold-hearted, and Machiavellian.
Unfortunately, there will always be people who resort to stepping on the throats of others for their own personal gain.
War (in self-defense) is necessary to stop those who initiate war.
But diplomacy and collaboration is always better than war.
We should unite as human race to lift each other up as a whole, rather than fight among each other needlessly.
Sadly, there are still people who choose war as a solution to their problems.
And unfortunately, if the enemy refuses to negotiate and only responds with bombs and bullets, we are forced to also use deadly force to protect our loved ones.33 Reply- +1 y
Yes, technically you’re right.
Everything is a choice that we can decide upon.
If there is an enemy military aircraft that is about to bomb a city of unarmed civilians, one can either choose to intervene or allow the bombing to happen. - +1 y
if anyone attacks that "forces" the defender. no other option.

+1 yIt's a power tactic, there's a disagreement and it turns into a war, the winner gets feared and possibly fix their disagreement, fear is a tactic for power, if you grow people's fear, you have a power over the people that fear you, it's not a healthy solution but it's definitely effective.

you only described the attacker. the word fear is like the word terror.
- +1 y
Well that's why they are called terrorists, their power comes from putting fear in people

+1 yWar advantages (just as a few spontaneous first thoughts):
- the soldiers get around (it's boring to only stay at home)
- good profits through stock exchange speculations by parasites
- getting rid of ammunition that's about to expire
- creating heroes (who otherwise would only accomplish to sell 2nd hand cars)
- helping/supporting some buddies from weapons industry
- news media have something to write about, or talk-show about
- a 'country' can test newer technology stuff (yes: technology is not only handphones) for its efficiency
- war 'outside' distracts from 'internal' problems (a historical fact)
- war brings goods that otherwise 'your' country would need to buy
- given that ''you'' win, it can open new markets in the 'loser's' territory
- manly aggression is more impressive than a faggot parade
- it gives new ideas and topics for music, movies, arts, literature
- music, movies, arts, literature can make more money
- it helps to spread the one and only good culture (from the view of the participant/s)

+1 ysubduing your adversary by killing them under a set of rules so a new peace can be established until the next war. Everyone should read and compare the Hamas Charter and the Isaeli constitution.
Reality is, it is really hard to change the minds of adults. They have to have stress... sometimes a lot of it in the face of suffering or death, to change their opinions. Some won't even change then. So the solution in conflict is to wipe out the other side and subdue them.
Just ask the settlers whom were scalped and murdered... they'd tell ya. I mean the ones decades ago, not the ones last week. Or you can ask the ones coming up in the next few weeks...
For making new friends. USA was at odds with Japan, now we are friends and it's going really well, look at all the good we've done together.
But it's awful... and all should try to avoid it.

+1 yWar is about greed, whether the end result is someone getting richer (oil, lands, etc.) or the making of weapons makes you richer (tech or weapons you can sell afterwards to countries that are at war).

It's good for nothing. All it's good for is creating fear that eventually the opponent will want to take revenge.

Every American war after ww2 was just to turn a profit. I don't know if you are new to the subject based on your update, but the companies that are contracted to rebuild are tied into the companies that make the weapons as well. Cheney and Halliburton are interesting to look into if the subject interests you.
