The "world" is the wrong sight to set. If you want to benefit from civilization then you owe your participation. If you don't want to participate in civilization then go find a cave in the Himalayas or whatever and live your best life, however short it may be. The knowledge of survival skills civilization gave you are on us.

So you have been told. But keep in mind society is ultimately just people and the people who currently make it corrupt or bullshit will be dead in a mere 50 years or so. Will the new people also be corrupt? Well, some of them, certianly, but will we have solidified a truly impartial justice system by then to hold them accountable or a diverse and objective public education system to nip corruption in the bud? I doubt it, but maybe in 500 years..

Choose not to pay taxes? Face the law.

Choose to be an asshole? Deal with the social fallout.

You don't owe anyone, but you can definitely make your situation worse or better depending on how you behave.
