Yes, the world makes humans shitty. We are a product of our environment.

No, humans are just shitty by nature.

Humans have so much potential.


We can be more holy than angels or more evil than demons.


We can use our imagination and creativity to solve problems or invent wonderful things.


We can also use our gifts to create weapons of mass destruction and every kind of malicious act you could ever think of.


Humans have free will.


But, most use their free will for self-serving reasons — while altruism, love, and compassion are a rarity.


Since so many humans use their gifts and free will in ways that are not mindful of others (or the environment), I believe that it’s more natural for humans to behave barbaric than to behave civilized.


But just because it’s in our nature to be barbaric, doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t strive to be better, to evolve, and aspire create a more civilized world.

I think it depends what beast gets fed. The good one or the bad one in you. It's a mean world to be sure. But I was raised by two loving parents and have a family that cares about me deeply. So I know I ALWAYS have that support. Not everyone has that. I can see how life would be tough for someone that had NO ONE to love them unconditionally.
