How many of you live near a city where defunding the police resulted in destroying that city like Seattle? Is there a place that benefited?

San Francisco. We had to move states. Shoplifting is legal. Most crime us legal or unpunished. This is what democrat policies do, they take prosperous wealthy cities like LA, San Francisco, san Diego and Seattle and they turn it into a 3rd world shithole. A huge amount californians have or are planing on fleeing east.

I've lived in the area since 1984. It's definitely destroyed.

I've lived there since 2015. We have a problem with a growing homeless population and a lack of law enforcement. But it's hardly "destroyed". There are cities with far more violent crimes per person than Seattle: New Orleans, Memphis, St. Louis, ...

I used to sleep on the University lawn during the summer. It was a very clean city. We would walk around at night and just meet random people and end up at house parties. Bumbershoot in the early nineties was a really great time.

What happened over there

The Capitol Hill riots after George Floyd. They defended police like asked for and now Seattle is a dump. Teen kids are shooting people and stealing cars. Crime has gone way up in all surrounding cities. Kids are robbing convenience stores and killing 80 year old Korean owners. The streets are not being taken care of and nobody will be a police officer now.
