no one is truly afraid of death. the concept is not one humans understand all that well to begin with. the thing most people are afraid of is what comes AFTER death. as we do not know. dying in and of itself is not particularly scary. every living thing dies. I have thought about death a lot as a teen, young adult, adult. it is not something to be afraid of. it is something that will happen to us all regardless. second big thing is people who are afraid of dying tend to also be too afraid to live. they don't enjoy life and then when they leave they realize how little they got to do.

I wasn't afraid when they told me I was dying I was just sad that I wasn't going to see my rescue kitten again. She loves to come up and smack my calves, then look up at me tenderly until I say okay I'll chase you, then we run around the house. I'm the only one she does that to. If I died, how would she understand that not happening again?

We are afraid of death because it means an end (as we don't know for sure if there is anything else on the other side of the mirror).

We can't really control our fear of dying. But we can control our lives to die without regrets. Many old people say they experienced enough and await death. But even more say they want to live longer.

The only religion I believe in is Buddhism. When you die you either move up or down the ladder to heaven. Just be a good person in your current life, and death might be a blessing.

Yes, if people tell you they don’t fear it then it’s because they can’t imagine it happening now. They think they got plenty of time but if they knew it was around the corner, believe me, they would fear it unless you’re really sick and ready to go

Yes and no. I’m a believer is Jesus Christ and I know that after I’m gone, I’ll be in heaven. But the part that scares me is leaving behind loved ones. And no I’m not going to debate Christianity on here. I believe what I believe and you can believe what you want as well.

Not if you trust God's word. I mean. Let's be honest. Regardless death is scary. I'd be lying if I said it didn't scare me at all. But I trust God is loving God and his word is good. Death is inevitable. So outside of this I'm not going to waste precious moments of life worrying about what I cannot control. We're all taking that ride at some point. So why worry.

It depends on what you think is on ether other side. That's what scares people the most. They don't know if they are going to heaven or hell. The second is leaving your loved ones behind.

I had a very near death experience. I did not fear death and I was only 18 at the time. I do not fear it now. I just don't want to end up in a bed suffering for the last few years waiting for it.

Should you? Yes (survival instinct), but no (it still happens, you can't do anything about it). Do you? Yes (We fear death because we don't want to miss a potential future).
