Nothing much quite frankly. Generally speaking groups always adopts a "style" or "image" that then comes to represent them. Having a consistent image is far more important than whatever message you want to try over-analyze from it. It is basically just corporate branding but in this case for terrorists.

In a way you could just say that they do it because they think it looks cool and that they think it is the look that exemplifies what they are trying to represent.

I suspect they are hiding their shame. They are children grown up in a hell mentality, told to kill Jews, and trained to do so, with required recitation. There is no out.
But either way, it's helpful for targeting.

I find that unlikely. While yes, there is probably a degree of them being taught how to think but quite frankly there is plenty of reasons they would come to the same conclusions without needing that assistance.

There are legitimate grievances for their plight and perhaps more importantly, there is a history of violence which they grew up in which makes it super easy to develop a bias against the outside threat. If they are radicalized enough then their minds would probably automatically blame the Jews or whoever for literally anything wrong in the world. You broke your leg? The Jews fault. The crops died after there was no rain? Jews once again etc..

I dont think shame has anything to do with it. In fact, I think pride can be a very powerful aspect of many Hamas members. Like yes, if you blow yourself up or whatever then you might get virgins in heaven or something like that which can be a motivating factor but there is probably no small insignificant part that just think that their family would be proud of them at that one moment and they might even be correct in that belief.
