If Israel wanted to commit a genocide, they would not need to dedicate any ground troops whatsoever. They have total air and sea superiority and could focus on bombardments from afar. They could bomb the entire place into rubble without losing pretty much anyone if they wanted to but they risk their own ground troops to save civilians and they even call, send leaflets and so on to the civilians to tell them to get out. They even tried to negotiate with Hamas and beg them to leave hospitals before fighting them but Hamas refuses. They openly want civilians to be killed.
