Would it be sexist to you if use a gender inclusive pronouns for everyone?

People with a French background

He-(il/ils) addressing everyone with the majority male? Of a group.
Maybe she-(elle/elles) when there’s a substantial numbers of female, when female is not quiet a minority? Of a group.

To the people with a French background, do you tend to use the plural inclusive pronouns even when speaking English sometime? Not in public..!

To the people with English background;

If someone where to say He/she talking about something and people you’ll tend to think it’s singular person right?
Without knowing it was a “They”, what would you think of it if you ever get to understand?

Saying that freely these day, you’ll be called a sexist.

That's a tricky thing. On one hand, I don't wanna assume everyone's gender all the time just cuz it can make some folks uncomfortable. But at the same time, the language we grew up with matters too, you know?

For French folks, using "il/ils" is just how they learned to talk. And English folks are used to "he/she" meaning one person. Changing things overnight won't work.

I don't think using the language you know makes someone sexist, as long as they're not tryna hurt anyone. Culture and history shape the way we communicate.

The most important thing is just treating people with respect. If someone asks to use different pronouns for them, listen and try your best. But don't beat yourself up if you mess up, as long as you're making an effort.

And cut others some slack too - languages evolve gradually over generations. Instead of accusations, we should focus on education and understanding between all sides. Nobody's perfect, man. Just do your best and be cool to each other.

Don’t the French have genders for every noun? La lamp (F) and so on. I don’t speak French so it’s confusing.

Then language has evolved to be less sexist, and address everyone as they should. I’m a little old school that what I was taught.
I tend to address everyone (group) when banally talking to people I’m close to and comfortable with, as he or she, depends on the majority of that group I’m addressing.
There was that saying in French, the majority overrode/take precedent over the minority in grammar. (Still valid in politics when considering the meaning of the phrase, so…)

Here’s the correct saying!
“Le masculin emporte sur le féminin”= the masculine take precedent over the female”

Right, when I talk to a group of people I usually say “you guys” it makes sense to me
