I trust climatologists who are experienced meteorologists. I also trust thermodynamics and transport phenomena.

Carbon dioxide is a thermal insulator. It insulates us from infrared EM radiation from the sun and actually cools the Earth a small amount. However, it is transparent to visible/UV radiation/higher energy/photon radiation that will hit the Earth and emanate as a lower energy/photon. That's why the Earth emits more photons than it receives. Adding CO2 shifts the energy balance so more heat has to accumulate in the Earth's atmosphere in order to reach steady state emission.

The Earth warms. Where the debate lies is just how appreciable an effect it has on climates across the globe. Why people have a bleeding heart for undeveloped societies that have large families and high child mortality rates is what's baffling. The Left doesn't have exclusive rights over this issue. Much like cultural appropriation, talking about it doesn't make it theirs.

It’s a simple energy balance and heat transport phenomena problem. Stefan-Boltzmann’s law says that temperature has to rise for more energy to be emitted in order to reach steady state.
