I'll listen to experts, but experts can be full of shit like anyone else. So I always keep that in mind. You don't have to get screwed over by experts too many times before you learn that lesson. Whether it's scientists, doctors, lawyers, or the professional mechanic on the corner, they can all be wrong, and often are.

As for Chernobyl, at one time I spent a considerable amount of time studying that. If you want to break it down into the simplest terms, it was a lack of communication. There were many things involved, but lack of communication is what set the whole thing in motion.

If you look at Three Mile Island here in the US, the underlying problem was lack of training, and instruments that didn't give the necessary information for the workers to react to a problem. They misread an instrument, and did the exact opposite of what they should have done.

Actually it's very easy to argue with them, especially if they are wrong. And they ARE wrong, and quite often. This has been shown to be true over and over again.

Proper science DOES argue with science. That's one of the most important parts of good science. It's why good science requires peer review and duplication. It also requires withstanding the test of time. Just in my lifetime there have been MANY things that scientists were saying, then several years later they decided their original view was wrong.

This isn't just about science though. It's about experts, who exist in every field.

Dumb People don't have object permanence. Like a baby who is entertained by peek a boo. It's only real until they see it in front of them. Like flat earthers. They are retroactively making scientific research from an original hypothesis.

At the same time when it directly impacts themselves it matters but still irreverent why. It's drives me insane. Covid19 killed over 1,000,000 people over all other expected deaths. The average person just didn't give a fuck. The equipment of all of south Dakota drop dead, or how about the 10 most populated city Austin texas dropping dead. The equivalent loss of human life but in baby food formula.

I just hate them and i don't know how to help them until it's too little to late.

It is like an intellectual object permanence isn’t it? Someone said this… first they don’t believe it, then it’s explained to them like babies, and then they say “I believed it the whole time”. Something like that.

@Juxtapose that is apart of data gathering to find causastions and correlation. So you take the average deaths nationwide and covid19 deaths and see exact causes. So car crashes or meth lab explosions are relatively close you can guess it's not impacted by covid19 but you need that data to begin with to start that argument.

If it's within a resonable difference you can guess the virus isn't effected by that dearh but if there is major increases people can start figuring out whats going on. Thats how we figured out its more lungs, heart and even toes storing all the dead cells away from said lungs and heart far away from anything important.

We did the same thing with drunk driving. How does a bottle of liquor at a bar create a car crash hour later? You use data from other crashes and see high levels of alcohol consumption and we can presume drunk driving is dangerous. It took millions of data and decades of examples to say definitively drunk driving is always the cause of an traffic wreck.

Also we found out high levels of reckless motorcycle accidents are cat owners because later on they found out about parasites that messed up people's fear response from rats into cats then into people's brain.

We could only figure that out from decades if not centurys of data gathering. So with covid19 we knew basically nothing and need to learn it as fast as possible so everything is getting looked at. So with everyone looking at data points of course the best strategy changes with additional information. It would be worth anything if it didn't change with new data.

@Juxtapose hypothetically if there was a zombie apocalypse starting you would see signs of aggressive behavior like gun shots and see how much of a difference there is compared to historical averages. If it is close to normal averages you can assume it's not effected by it but you still need to collect the data first.

Dunning-Krüger effect. Uneducated people are too uneducated to know that they are uneducated. So they rather believe simple solutions and conspiracy nonsense provided by rabble-rousers on the internet. This whole tale of people being able to make "an infooormed decision" is such an American farce for 90% of the population.

Appealing to authority is a logical fallacy.

The truth is the truth, it doesn't matter if you have a fancy degree or if the government sponsors what you do or not.

Profit motive is one the biggest indicator of truthfulness. Plenty of experts in the past would tell you cigarettes were just fine or that it was okay to have cocaine in your soda pop. Experts also told black people that were being experimented on with syphilis that they were being treated when in reality they were letting the black people die.

In the case of COVID the "experts" have been caught lying or just being flat out wrong and trying to gaslight the public way too many times. It also doesn't help that the guy they appointed to manage the response (Fauci) is also responsible for funding the Chinese lab that created the virus in the first place! The masks are useless and the people at the top knew it but lied, the prime example being Gavin Newsom telling everyone to put on their masks between bites and then having his private mask less party at the French Laundry.

Experts don't always agree. Look at, well, pretty much any case where a defendant is claiming temporary insanity or any sort of mental defense. You have your expert witness interview him, I have my expert witness interview him, we'll see which one the jury believes.

Now when it's something like gravity... people deny that just because they're f'ing crazy.

Everyone listened to the experts during Covid 19 and look what happened a million dead many more ruined for life because of side effects. Food for thought, shut down everything for TWO WEEKS to flatten the curve a couple of days later New York started with the Empire Pass then the Feds with their record of shot for Covid but did anyone notice that they had space for recording up to 6 vaccinations. Something tell me they knew more than they told us. SO NO I DO NOT TRUST THE EXPERTS!

Corporations advertise to whoever they figure their market is. Gold on right wing channels because they figure Conservatives have gold or want gold. There'd be no point trying to advertise bud light there. That's why you are more likely to see Tom Selleck selling reverse mortgages on reruns of say Matlock or little house on the prairie.
If a company is trying to sell to the left wing they will try to use Social justice or use a multiracial couple or lgbtq couple etc.
A trend I notice with loan companies, banks and credit cards is targeting minorities especially black women to take out loans or use a credit card, i guess they figure black women are more likely to blow their money. They talk about black spending power but never about black debt.

So you admit that many doctors who tried to speak out about how awful the covid plan was got censored?

It's almost like debates are a good thing and that political censorship only causes problems.

No I'm talking about the doctors on the government level who thought it was a good idea to ruin people's lives if they don't take the vaccine and that the vaccine distributors like Pfizer would be immune to lawsuits.
