I never used them nor do I know anyone who did, but we had them in the US Army when we deployed. They are far from the only military in the world to use them.

Considering Hamas dismantled the plumbing in Gaza to make bombs and rockets, I can imagine that the sanitation situation there is pretty abysmal, so the Israel troops are probably being told to dump their shit in pits outside of the city. We just used boxes for that but w/e.
