When asked about our height, should we exclude the height added by shoes?

Question

For instance, just measured myself accurately this time & it turns out I'm 5'11 without shoes on. And when I put shoes on, I'm usually 6' or over depending on the outer & inner sole of the shoe. 🤔 And most people will see me with shoes on.

I prefer to be accurate & say 5'11 but a family member of mine told me that I can just say that I'm 6' since that's how everyone will see me. What do you think?

It's perfectly fine to exclude the height of the shoes. If some woman wants to reject You due to Your height... It's basically her own problem, You know...

Unless You try to envision what You'd look like with Her at Your side at a formal ceremony, say, a wedding. If She's wearing high heels, it's fine to add the height of Your shoes' soles. If You're still taller than Her, it will be fine. If not... It's for You two to decide. I mean... A reason why I could actually propose a rejection of my potential feelings to a woman of a similar height to my own is this very reason. If she's much shorter than me, we will look fine on formal occasions (and if she still wants me to be 6', it's her own problem). However, if she's closer to my own height, she will be taller than me in high heels, and if it is a problem for her, it might actually be a proper reason for a rejection.

Considering how big an inch is when it comes to measurement i would be careful when rounding up or down.

My dad used to say "you live life with your shoes so as far as anyone is concerned your height should include them" (giving a very litteral meaning the phrase: don't sell yourself short)

But the thing is I'm 6'2¾ barefoot. And so with shoes on I'm a little over 6'3. So what I do is round it to 6'3

Stop this obsession with being 6 ft tall! It's so foolish. 5'11 is two inches above average height for American men. Brad Pitt is 5'11. Does anyone ever ask about his height? Nobody cares.

Tommy Lee Jones is 5'8".. below average. Anybody care? No. Daniel Craig is 5'10" I think. Maybe 11.

My son is 5'5". He always seems to get women. Attractive ones. His dad was 5'7" I'm 5'2". Our feet touch the ground. He's been out with women taller than him. I think they like him because of him. That's what's important.

If any women roll by you because of an inch, you should be glad they didn't bother.

You should not include the height added from your shoes, since that is a lie.

The amount of people I have ran into exaggerating their height is absurd, which causes more people to do it. It's gone to the point people think I am taller than I am, so I have to debate them about it even though I have been measured by doctors, lmao.

Just own whatever height you are and you won't give a shit about it.

When they measure you during a physical, they ask you to take your shoes off and whatever you're measured as is what you say your height is. That's how it's been since as long as I've been alive as far as I know. I've never accounted for the extra height from my shoes. Some shoes are more than a couple inches of that bottom cushion 😂

Women constantly lie about their age, their weight, and even their appearance through makeup and filters so as far as I'm concerned you can exaggerate your height a bit and shouldn't feel the slightest bit guilty about doing so. It's not like they are going to bring a tape measure to the date.
