What do you mean when you say "I respect people or all people?

Do you really respect everyone or do you respect their opinion but not respect everything about the person or people. There is a big difference
I see people write that they respect people, but I put that to question 🤔
Does that mean you respect terrorist, murderers, etc? Probably not. I always say I respect that person's opinion but not necessarily the person. I believe people need to earn respect from people - it shouldn't just be given.

I respect everyone’s right to have an opinion even if I don’t agree with it. However I don’t respect people who violate the rights of others with violent or abusive actions because that goes beyond having an opinion and is breaking the law.

Everyone gets basic human respect, but anything beyond that is earned.
