Well, no, we are a Constitutional Republic. Also, in our constitution, you will find that Democracy is specifically absent from our founding documents. That was done on purpose.
Yes we use mechanism of democracy, but how our election processes function are far removed from the traditional "democracy" that the rest of the world uses.
Nope, Democracy is not mentioned once in the Declaration of Independence or Constitution. Democracy is debated in the federalist papers and is considered a bad direction for the country. Anyone that tells you otherwise is mentally retarded.
America's sacred cause is people who ordinarialy might hate eachother, banding together to not have to answer to anything other than just laws.
