Infinitely worse. The country was attacked from within, with the aim of rejecting the will of the people in choosing their president. That would have been the end of American democracy.

A country could nuke a major US city, killing everyone there, but the laws and constitution would not be harmed. Not the case with Jan 6 and the associated conspiracy against the country.
