They speak three languages: English, Scottish Gaelic and Scots. English is the main language in Scotland, while Scottish Gaelic and Scots are minority languages (Unfortunately Scottish Gaelic, is actually considered an endangered language, as it's currently used by less than 60,000 people).

Like Native American languages, we try to keep the thread of Celtic Gaelic languages alive. Scots. Irish. Welsh. Only 10's of thousands keep them alive.

There are several versions of Celtic languages that are spoken sometimes in various parts of the UK.

There is a language in Scotland, I believe confined to the Islands, but is rarely spoken.

There is Welsh language, used widely.

Another version is confined to Cornwall, and is rare now.

Ireland has another version.

Yes Scots is spoken, as is Gaelic. With Gaelic being predominantly Highlands and Islands and Scots more lowland
