Absolutely. And as soon as he tried I would make sure he succeeded. He'd need a lot of help, but my ego isn't fragile and my payoff would be substantial. I'm going to have a whole lot of markings on me when my attorney and I hold a press conference a couple hours later (once all the bruises settle in). Take a beating for a little while, boom, instant endowment for more rescue kittens. Can't think of a better use of taxpayer money than coming back to me. Hell, look at some of these payouts, I'll take a beating every month. I've seen people get a quarter million with no lasting damage (ex used to work those cases, city would usually just settle for stuff under a mil). All my lasting damage I didn't even get any money for, maybe just a little medal.

  I could drown in an inch of water in my bathtub or choke on a cherry pit and die, too. I've already been shot, blown up, stabbed, been through two car wrecks (pronounced DOA at one of 'em) and had to engage a guy in mortal combat after he tried to pull a dagger/knife thing on me. He ain't gonna hurt no worse than how I've been hurt before.

  Mack Nelson just got a settlement of half a million bucks for getting slammed on the ground by the cops when he hadn't done anything. I get slammed in combatives and don't earn shite. Sign me up.
