How possible can reading make some people rich and we still have poor and broke intelligent people in our society?

Because some people are either way to busy raising a family paying bills taking care of a family member or whatever to do so. Or they are to lazy to do it and implement it in their lives. Or they have so much trauma to work through they become addicted to something it sets them back years they get sober work on themselves and get lost in bettering themselves. Many reasons. You need to look at the other side of it. Yes some are lazy no doubt about that but some are also working their asses off just to make ends meet

Depends on your choice of profession and want for money. Engineers, Doctors, and Lawyers read books and make a lot of money whereas scientists make very less. Most of the time they don't put their work in money-earning infrastructure but give them away for free. A large section of vaccines, medicine, instruments, the internet, and computers are like such. Einstein spent almost his whole life in relative poverty. Most of the Nobel laureates aren't rich or earn much compared to just a regular doctor.

People just don't pay you because you are smart. They pay you for things otherwise they will not have access.

Now if they are poor/broke while being smart, perhaps they choose to be such.

when many read, better quality but more competition for jobs.
