Living away from the real pleasures of life
Only if there are choosing to stay at hone and read OVER opportunities monthly social invitations or seasonal things.
Most people end up having at least 4-5 'boring' at home where they relax, do life chores, and entertain their hobbies. It does get weird if you never accept a dinner invitation or have a 'fun' day trip on a weekend once a month.
Little things like hiking, or go to a concert, or meet up for a meal with your friends, if you aren't doing anything once a month outside of work, that is a bit sad.

As long as they know how to have fun and do some things with friends or family then it's not a problem.
It's not that I am not a reader. I just can't seem to switch off my mind long enough to relax. Always busy. Had a book since 2013 and only on the second chapter. I'm not into gaming at all, movies and TV are rarely watched. If I relax I work on landscaping my garden. Keeps the mind active.
Disagree that you miss out on life though. My partner is an avid reader and can go through a novel in three days. We still do lots of stuff.
Depends on what you men by a lot. If they read a few hours a day they aren't missing out on life.
Hanging out at Gag answering questions is a bigger time waster. Playing video games is a bigger time waster. Watching TV is a bigger time waster.
It's all relative to what else you have going on in life.

Increasing knowledge rather than mindless crap is always a better choice. Especially, when said knowledge makes international travel and like easier. Your life is a self-delusional life based in fantasy found in computer and idiot negative box, television !!
No. I think people spend much more time on social media and miss out on life, but people that read books still have plenty of time to experience things. People addicted to social media are often still on it even when they are with family and friends and miss out on what is right in front of them.
No & when you read you have to use a lot more of your imagination than when watching tv/movies so it exercises the creative part of your brain while tv & movies practically turn you into a vegetable.
Nope, not when they can take it with them as a book/ebook. Reading is a privilege.
And so is writing. And being able to distil ones thoughts into words on paper takes a very different set of skills.Compared to watching TV, playing videogames, or watching sport matches? I think reading books is better.
Of course it mustn't be done to an extreme, when one just eats and reads.I would argue that reading a lot of books exposes people to more facets of life than their individual experience could possibly encompass.
Books ARE life, so what are you talking about?
Reading allows me to experience (at least in a way) more than I could experience as one person living one lifetime. Reading is one of the best things in life.
Yes! Why waste time reading the classics when one can invest that time watching reality television?
Those who never learn anything miss out in life.
Not even a little. Clearly written by someone who doesn't read.
I think it depends if you try to make time for social things, though it is good for you.
No theyare good part of life I honestly miss reading I wanna get back into it
No, it's all relative. Life is about what you enjoy. If they are missing then the others are missing the other side too.
Of course not.
And what pleasures would those be?
No. What would they be missing?
