If China were to take over Tiawan?

Would the United States be able to build anything without Taiwan’s computer chips? Since no American named automobiles are completely built without imported electronics or parts. Don’t know about computer chips for military hardware. My guess would be no to that also.
Set me straight with proof if I am wrong!

TSMC have plants in South Korea, Europe and the US. The plants in Taiwan are the biggest. As part of the possible invasion scenarios, there are plans to potentially destroy the plants or rather certain machines. There would be a global dip in sales, however it is expected the other plants would eventually get up to larger manufacturing. China would possibly lose access to all chips due to sanctions and access to specific machines.

Your question should really be ‘Could China shaft itself by invading Taiwan’ and the answer is yes. Think of China with no European or American manufacturing in place.

So before China would invade. They will be stockpiling chips. Just like the Covid supplies.

China will move on Taiwan before the 2024 US election. Trump will be elected and the US will cut off all trade with China as we shift industries to the ASEAN nations, Indonesia and South Korea, other than those he brings home. I would expect it would be mostly a political takeover. Though that depends on how Taiwanese responds. I read American Seals are there teaching people tactics in case they’re invaded.

But I think Ukraine is showing China that it will be politcally isolated even more if it took Taiwan. And what would be the ROi? Is Taiwan even worth it? It’s just because Chinese Commies want to finally win the civil war that started back before WW2.
