I’m amazed that most people still fall for the blame game trick. Their minds are so totally poisoned by a constant bombardment of partisan propaganda that they don’t realize that by directing their antipathy towards one party or the other, they lose sight of the bigger picture. It’s divide and conquer, pure and simple. By blaming problems on one party alone, it enhances an almost fanatical devotion to the system of government we have, and directs scrutiny away from the system and towards one of the system’s agents. “We need to defend OUR democracy from the other guy!” Our democracy? You’re not a billionaire. You’re destitute, eating processed shit, and watching mind rotting garbage on a screen for 6-7 hours a day while working at some cubicle farm.

Before Trump I would have said, it's pretty much equal. Ever since Trump has emerged he has step by step morally destroyed the GOP. Now the party is filled with incompetent little shits (Santos, Gaetz, Boebert, Taylor-Greene...) who have no interest in putting in the work, willfully sabotage progress for the American people (refuse the bipartisan border bill) and are self-absorbed with infighting (15 election rounds and ousting of Kevin McCarthy).

It's especially bitter because in a country with only two political parties both of these parties need to be in a functional condition.

At least the Republican party still pretends not to be corrupt because their base wants them to have a higher moral standard. The Democratic party has abandoned any moral standard and outright promotes corruption.
