Is it possible for Republicans to flip a Senate seat in Maryland?

Republicans nominated former governor of Maryland, Larry Hogan to run for Senate in November.

Even though Maryland on the presidential level is a deep-blue state (Joe Biden won it by 33% in 2020) Hogan was successfully elected in 2014 and reelected by double digits in 2018.

This Senate seat is currently open, as the incumbant Democrat Ben Cardin, decided to not to seek reelection.

I believe that the current report on Biden's incapacity is part of a carefully orchestrated scheme to bypass the primary process and have a nominee selected by the DNC. Historically, the left underestimates the level of intelligence and skepticism of the general population and this scheme will be seen for what it is, creating a big exodus from the ranks of the usually faithful democrat voters.

The 2024 general election will be a grand fail for the left.
