Master mind in what way? Master minded it beginning or master minded winning it? I think it is hard to say he behind the defeat of Germany

I would say he was the master mind in keeping Britain in the fight. If he had not, D Day would not have been possible. If no D Day than maybe the 3rd Reich would be still in place and German resources could have been devoted to Russia.

I think you can only he was important to Britain staying in and that was important to winning the war.

If there was a mastermind on the Allies side, I would say it was not a person but a place, Bletchley Park. https://codenames.info/operation/ultra/

Okay, he was a lieutenant at one point too, are we going to start calling him that as well?

being a general is a very important title he even was called the most popular general back home thus even gained some respect from his enemies
which is different case for being just a lieutenant therefore he wasn't well known for it

He was a field marshal. It’s more appropriate to call him that instead of general.

US joined towards the end of the war. They had impact, but the British were there from the start.

      Well if you date WW2 to 1939 - 1945
Then the United States was involved for then the United States was involved for 50%

If you date by days, then the 2194 total war days stated by General MacArthur, then the United States was involved for 62% of WW2.

If you included the Lend Lease Act dates, that brings the United States WW2 involvement to 74% of total wartime days.

It doesn't seem like the United States joined at the end.

So maybe there seems to be a lack of understanding. The US didn't invade Europe until 1944. That was towards the end of the war in Europe. Japan and the Axis basically all did their own thing, so the US fighting Japan didn't directly. Although, the US was in Africa fighting Nazis there in 1943.

What does this have to do with anything?
