He wasn't born in America his mother was American. Like many of the British aristocracy his father's family put a ring on his mother so that her family would bail out their estate like in Downton Abbey. A lot of British noblemen sold themselves and their titles for cash that doesn't mean that the peerage was ruled by America.

thats not true they were a global superpower up into the 50s and 60s. britain is the only reason germany wasn't able to concentrate their forces in the east
