No. First of all, Taiwan makes the best computer chips in the world so it is not "cheap electronic chips", secondly Taiwan is critical for USAs strategy of containing China and keeping its other allies safe in the region such as South Korea and Japan.

Think of it as Taiwan being a massive unsinkable aircraft carrier/battleship parked outside the coast of China that also happens to make the best computer chips in the world and you are mostly there on understanding Taiwans position from USAs point of view.
