Well, it is. It's been a steady progression since Reagan became President in 1981.

Note that sudden uptick in "Upper Income" and downtick in "Middle Income" that occurs from 1980 to 1981.

Since then, middle income has steadily decreased and upper income has steadily increased.

No. I don't, middle is an indicator of scale. As long as there is a top and a bottom there will be a middle.

Now I will say, what most people have grown to see as middle class from there childhood is becoming harder to achieve. making it seem like it's vanishing as the older generation retire or pass on.

But in reality it's just the scales of what the middle is... is changing. And I feel like where the middle REALLY is... vs where the economy says the middle is... aren't the same

It looks like it. Not wiped out, but the poverty line going up more and more, so even when a profession was once middle class its now poor. While the rich becoming richer and richer.

Looking at the US from the outside it would appear that the Democrat Party is doing its up-most to Wiped Out the Middle Class even though that is where the majority of voters are from.
