The above in next 5 years. That is why Macron likely made his comment, as doing nothing will push towards war.

Macron wants to escalate. Second biggest land owner in Ukraine is a french corporation, first one is US one. Since Russian govt. jets land regularly in Washington it can be assumed Russia and US found a consent to end this conflict and that's excludes interest of this french corporation that owns land in Ukraine. Add 1+1 and you will know why Macron barks that way.

I'm going to put this in plain terms: if France invades a part of Ukraine or Russia without first being attacked themselves, they should be immediately and permanently kicked out of NATO and hung out to dry.
