Do you believe gen z is “aging rapidly”?

The youngest of gen z 12 and the oldest gen z is 27 yet there are already many people on social media claiming gen z is “aging rapidly” and that gen z doesn’t look there age. As a gen z myself, I’m 17 and I’ve gotten a comment once by an older lady when I was 15 that I looked older and I genuinely have no idea what she was talking about because I look back at photos of myself from back then and think I looked perfectly normal for my age? I think these claims are way overblown especially since gen z can be as young as 12. It’s a stupid criticism !

There are definitely a few outliers of people I’d say look more mature then their age but everyone ages differently, it’s just genetics I don't know why people are shaming others for looking older now when a few decades ago being able to grow old was a luxury.

At least all these Gen Z celebrities look like teenagers to me. Whereas if we look at celebrities popular when I was younger like Virginia Madsen in her mid-20s:

She looks older and mature to me (in a nice way to my eyes).

That's actually something I'm missing a lot with newer celebrities and media featuring younger people from newer generations. I'm like, "Where are all the women? They all look like girls." Same with lots of the adult guys; they look more like boys to me than men. Compare Kyle MacLachian in Dune (1984) to Timothee Chamelet in the new Dune:

Kyle was actually several years younger than Timothee when he played Paul Atreides! But he looks so much more like a man to my eyes while Timothee looks like a teenager.

Maybe it's just a matter of what sort of look is becoming popular in the media so maybe they're just selecting younger-looking people. I am not sure. Here in Japan though, I get the same impression looking at younger people today. They seem more girlish and boyish and less womanly and manly.

yes and they are not aging well. A ot of baby boomer s are in better shape and they lived through the 60s.

I'm gen z and people actually tell me that I look really young for my age like around Valentine's Day this year I was helping my mom sell Valentine's gifts she made and this girl who was buying one of them asked my mom what grade I was in and my mom told her I'm not in school anymore

I think we’re not going to age well due to diet and lifestyle. A lot of us smoke weed or vape, and that’s going to catch up to those who do it.
