I was there for 6 weeks it was very different than where I'm from. But I was impressed how people adapt to a difficult life and I also liked the spirit of community. I liked trying many different restaurants in Delhi.

The things that need to improve in my opinion are the air pollution the garbage lying around, planning a trip and traveling is very difficult in India, the corruption, the class system even though the cast system is gone it's still very present, the nationalism and anti muslim hate. Also the haggling over everything and ripping people off was exhausting but I don't expect that to change.

But I really admired the spirit of the people most people were very positive and nice and hard working even with very difficult conditions. In some countries with inequality people just give up and everyone is depressed but in India everyone was optimistic I felt like. And I also like how people are more close to each other. In switzerland people are expected to be independent and it's a good system but I like the community in other countries more. I also saw nice thing like tigers in Sariska all the mughal buildings, we went to Neemrana, Jammu, agra, but mostly we stayed in Delhi. We planned to travel a bit more but it didn't work out. I still had a great time though :)

I started to sing some indian songs to my girlfriend on whatsapp haha :)

I am sorry if this offends you, but when I think of India I think of a bitter sweet country. A lot of countries take advantage of it, because they can use Indians for cheap labor and save a lot of money. However this low balls the Indian employees and they are left with barely being bale to make ends meet. I also feel bad for the overpopulations there and all the ridiculous fees and taxes that the gov makes people pay. The police system there is also very corrupted. More so than the average country.

I've been to India and different cities several times. I'm sure you're aware of the negatives and positives of your country so I hope my answer doesn't offend you. I'm not coming from a mean place and this is based purely on my personal experience. The country is overpopulated and dirty. There's a huge discrepancy between poor people and rich people with poverty being the majority. The poor are miserable and the rich are very rich and act superior. A lot of people have no manners, as a woman I never felt safe to go out by myself as men don't know the difference between looking and staring. Some places are gorgeous and the architecture is outstanding but those places are rare. Food is my favorite and absolutely delicious. Lastly, I've worked and interacted closely with many indians over the years especially here in the middle east. There are good and bad people but for some reason I still don't fully trust them.

I've never been there. There are a few Indian guys that are part of a group that I and other friends hang out on campus with in between classes. They are all cool. At least from my interactions they are. Only one of the three of them was born in India tho. The other two come from Indian families but born in the US. I do have one very good friend that is Indian but moved with her husband to his home country. She is the sweetest thing ever. She just lives so far from me that we have only seen each other a couple of times. So most of my experience has been with the people and not the country itself. If they are any representation of the country that is a good thing because they are all really great people.

The country has a rich history and heritage and an amazing geography, but sadly a lot of the people who live there completely ruin the place. Though from my research, most of the negative stereotypes seem to originate from people in the north of the country. I love their aesthetics and there are many aspects of their culture I find fascinating, but a lot of them are strict and nationalistic to the point where it becomes straight up arrogance. They think just because they have Bollywood and the Taj Mahal it makes up for all the bad stuff. And then there's the food hygene and hygene in general. There's also a lot of racism towards non-Indians

Although I've never been to India, I have had the privilege of serving two different Indian couples as a maid and personal servant, and neither of them extended even a hint of compassion, mercy or reprieve in their dominion over me. I do know that the nation is a vast technology hub in the digital world, particularly the city of Hyderabad.

Oh, no, not at all, ma'am! To the contrary, I'm a firm believer in that renowned passage from the Bible, which cautions against laying the cane with anything less than the owner's best, most forceful delivery -- 'Spare the rod and spoil the child ', which in this case would presumably be read as 'Spare the cane, and be searching again'

The older Indian people I've met have been very respectful. They also all left India. My time in Mumbai was short. There's a rape problem in India to be sure. Some college kid that thought he was hot shite shouldered into me pretty hard at a taxi drop off because he couldn't be bothered to wait a second to buy some cigarettes. He seemed to need some dental work after he "fell down." I know three of my female friends who flat out refuse to ever go.

Thanks. I'm sorry for the Indian women who have to put up with all they have to put up with. An Indian Canadian friend once told me "The problem with India is all the Indians, but all of us who feel that way leave."

Didn't really think about it all that much until I went to Mumbai. I did some work in international human rights law and the station of women in rural India is on par for the rural parts of the Middle East. It's a rough life to be sure. The police force was about as corrupt as the ones I worked with in Iraq. The Indian people deserve better. They were SOOOOOOO friendly while I was there, but when your system is f'ed it's hard to get out from under its bootheel.

I've never been to India but I always found Indian people I've met (worked with many in uni as a CompSci major and met many others elsewhere) so kind.

Also Indian food and French food is my favorite. I love Palak Gosht, Tandoori Chicken, Butter Chicken, Lassi, Naan, Roti, etc.

Canadians aren’t happy with Trudeau and Indians because a lot of Indians have lied about being international students to come to Canada only to have fake papers and work for Uber and live in dinghy apartments meant for 3 people have have 10-15.
Personally I don’t care much about Indians. To each their own but media doesn’t represent Indians in good life. It makes it seem like y’all are dirty with poor hygiene practices and scamming.

I almost married a girl from there but, she turned out to be just another golddigger!
I've heard it's a nice place, on one hand but it's a filthy disgusting place on the other so, I don't know who to believe. It's LOADED with scamming assholes, too! No morals and VERY quick to steal everybody's money!! If they were honest, nice people, they'd go out and get a real fucking job instead of stealing everything from little old ladies!!

It’s dirty, pollution is rampant, women are frequently assaulted and raped, your young men beat “Untouchables” for fun (I’ve seen the numerous videos on the internet) and periodically a mob of people lynch someone for “cow abuse.”

    Hmmm, what else?

Oh yes. Marriage celebrations and heart attacks go together in that country like pakoras and peas.
