Why do some bad people never get punished? How many such people have you come across?

Because too many people leave punishment in the hands of others. I have not met someone who has gotten away with something bad because I have dealt the punishment they deserved. A few examples. I was bullied a lot mostly nothing major but a handful of physical incidents and i started to avoid certain areas because i didn't want to do something i would regret. Well one of them found the route i took to get to classes and decided to jump me. I opened the door and caught a right hook to the face a shot to the stomach and then another shot to the face. At that point my instincits took over and the end result was that bully having a broken orbital bone, broken jaw, multiple cracked and broken ribs, a broken arm and leg, dislocated left leg, 4 snapped fingers, and 15 shattered teeth. I told him if i ever saw him again i would kill him and then kill his family (i had no idea if i could follow up the threat but i needed to convey how serious i was) he spent a few months in the hospital and never returned to school. He requires assisted care now. After that a girl in the high-school was raped by her boyfriend and i while unpopular was known for being morally centered and I don't tolerate unpunished crimes against women and children. So naturally I found out. This guy's first inkling of being in trouble was when I smashed him into a tile wall in the locker room after throwing him around the locker room I told him I knew what he did and he had 6 hours to turn himself in and if he didn't he better make his peace. Everyone knew what I did and everyone was too scared to say anything didn't help that I had almost killed someone prior to this. There are some less drastic examples but that gives a sense of where I stand when it comes to dealing with people that hurt others. Very much an older view. I will say I am not proud of either of those. Those serve as reminders for me to not lose control of my temper regardless of the situation. I am a big guy and losing control is not good

Some people are that powerful. Or they know the right people (or are related to them). Or they get off on technicalities.

Most of those types seem to go unpunished because the people they screw over decide it's not worth retaliating.

RICH bad people often escape accountability because they can afford the best legal teams. I personally have never met someone like that.
