I think it depends on the society and form of government. They could certainly distribute materials, make speeches, set an example, and even formally declare Christ to be the King of a given nation (Poland did this back in 2016, I believe).
As for $60 Bibles? I really honestly don't know what the hullabaloo is about. It's not that uncommon for Bibles to cost that much. In fact, I recently bought a translation that was more expensive than this one. Bibles are now and always have been expensive. There are some people here who claim that the Catholic Church wanted the people ignorant of the Bible back during the Middle Ages because the Bible would be chained to the altar and couldn't be removed. This is garbage. The monks who would transcribe the Bibles may have worked on it for free (or not, I don't know), but the people who made the writing utensils, ink, parchments, and binding didn't. The business cycle was still a thing even back then.
Could it be a grift? Quite possibly. Is it for certain? I don't think so. Is it cringy, especially with an American flag imprinted on it? I DO think so. Would I buy one? No, because it's probably missing Tobit, Sirach, both books of Macabees, and several others that are in Catholic Bibles.
I think some people have a problem with a politician selling Bibles to fund his campaign but saying he's doing to to "Make America pray again."
If he was sincere, wouldn't he just donate Bibles?
"The laborer deserves his keep" - 1 Timothy 5.18
Are Christian bookstores insincere for charging people for Bibles and other books? In a time of a disastrous catechesis crisis in the Catholic Church (try saying THAT ten times fast), are Scott Hahn, Matt Fradd, Taylor Marshall, or other Catholic speakers insincere if they get paid to sell their books and speak at Catholic parishes, colleges, or dioceses?
Everyone has someone they need to pay. The Trump Campaign may be selling the Bibles for $60 each, but part of that goes to paying the printers. But the printer has to pay their bills too. They get their supplies from somewhere else, and they in turn get theirs too and the cycles goes on and on. There's a chance that $60 was the lowest they could go and still make money off of them (see the paragraph above).
Do Christian bookstores say they sell Bibles to "Make America pray again"?
Some non-denominational or Evangelical ones might.
and if you were a billionaire, wouldn't DONATING Bibles be a better option?
He might not be the one making the money off of them. Again, like people keep saying, these are to help fund his campaign.
if a politician were to step down publicly from running, stating and doing that it was in order to vacate the world system of everyone harboring their own self-reveling possessions, to give up all he has to share all things communally for the Savior with brothers and sisters who lay down their lives daily for each other, submitting to God and to each other, helping each other to voluntarily obey Him as one cohesive group for life, doing good to the poor, and being home for the lonely to come to, who want rest from the vanity of the rest of the world, some might follow, but the Savior Himself said few are those who find this narrow way.
He also said unless a person come with the humble submission to being schooled in this way, which little children exhibit in their nature, that person will not even enter in to this manner of living.

Bring Jesus up to the podium to perform some miracles and then threaten everyone with damnation if they don't worship him.
Aside from that, I assume anyone who is pushing religion is a con man out for their own enrichment.
And it's a joke for politicians to push religion because their entire job description is to lie and grift. How gullible would a person have to be to trust a politician's morals.
Besides, I believe in the separation of church and state. So which name for God would that fuckhead be trying to get people to pray to? Probably not Allah, YHWH, Krishna, Great Spirit, Zeus, Jupiter, Horus, Dagda, Thor, Baal, Marduk, Viracocha, Huitzilopochtli, Kāne, ... ?
I think that the abandonment of religion in our lives is a contributing factor in the mess that society has become. Politicians should not become religious leaders but they should set an example of behaving with honor and showing respect for law and order and the truth.
I really don't think there is a way.
People are either going to pray because they already do.
Maybe you might get a few more to pray, but in my opinion that is not why we put people in office to get people into religion, but to run the country.
If they want to bring it up and put some time and effort into fine, but there are much larger issues facing the nation.
still it couldn't hurt to get more people to pray, but you can't foce people to do that.
That's easy... submit them to the front lines where they are certain to die. They will find God and pray very quickly.
Just put Ilhan Omar, oh nevermind you can't, she wasn't born here. Put her Palestinian friend, I think she was born in New York. Muslims know how to make people pray, and you never specified that praying has to be to the Christian god
how did you vote?
I didn't, but I usually support the Right
I think it’s cringe that Donald trump is doing that.
Dump would be selling $600 babies if he could get away with it.
When all the terrorist that cross the border start blowing us up
Why would he/she do it?
one had said he wants to do it
