Are you surprised by this statistic in a survey?

A guy asked a bunch of people why they want to become rich in a survey online

The most common answer that people voted for was that they wanted to provide for their family

It was not so they could live a life of debauchery or gluttony

It was not so they could get respect

It was not even so they would have more people to choose from when deciding who to marry

The media says rich people spend all their time at the beach

The reality is, most spend their entire lives working and have 2 hours of free time after their paper chasing duties at the office

Surveys are interesting because based on what demographic and number of people you ask, you can get away with statistic to prove a point which majority of people still don't believe. If you ask the less fortunate people, yet average earning men, they would say getting rich would mean to support family. If you ask the rich person, the answers would be totally different. If you ask only homeless people, the answer might be different as well.

Always before major elections major newspapers do tons of surveys with some kind of indication as to what the people want yet reality is a different story. When the poll surveys where done for trump's election, again depending on whom you asked, they all said Hillary. And then Trump won.

I usually see the surveys to be just another propaganda tool unless you have asked a large demographic of people and a very large number of inhabitants. Then I can begin to believe them!

People want to be rich because money equals freedom. It's freedom of worry where the next meals coming from, freedom of worry about that rattle your cars making. It's the freedom to travel at the drip of a hat. In short it gives you the freedom to live.

The sad part is that you have to be rich to provide for your family. Everyone should be able to do that.
