We have a lot of discussion about Alpha males on GAG, but I THINK, Alpha males like to THINK they are one of the Top Dogs in their social circle. We had a 'would-be' Alpha male in my barracks in the Army, and the only reason, I didn't cut his throat in his sleep, was I did not want to be in a Military prison for life.

To be honest, and forthright, I think the would-be Alpha, is really an insecure little man that wants others to look up to him and make him feel that he is something he is not - in reality. Truth be told, those guys wind up dead prematurely or spend much of their life in prison, due to their trying to demonstrate their liking to be at the Top of "the pecking order"

Anybody know a 'would-be' Alpha male, or someone who thinks he is?
