"The popular understanding of what constitutes genocide tends to be broader than the content of the norm under international law. Article II of the Genocide Convention contains a narrow definition of the crime of genocide, which includes two main elements:
A mental element: the "intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such"; and A physical element, which includes the following five acts, enumerated exhaustively: - Killing members of the group - Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group - Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part - Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group - Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group
“ the deliberate killing of a large number of people from a particular nation or ethnic group with the aim of destroying that nation or group."a campaign of genocide"”
But now I can answer you. Because I think you are a strange person with half a brain and to have any kind of conversation with you would only be an irritating waste of time like having a child ask "why?" Over and over.
It's pretty shocking for a person admits apathy to large numbers of people being systematically slaughtered because of their ethnicity or religion. That is admitting to having no soul or conscience.
But I'll bet Mr. Liverstone DOES are about the "holocaust".
I think any sensible person doesn't go around crying that people are dying every day. The world we were born into is a place of absolute brutality. So it's not surprising to me if someone doesn't care one way or the other. If you can't do anything about it, why care?
The Middle East has been unstable for all of modern history. I don’t care about a conflict in 2024 any more than in 1924. It’s just recency bias.
Also there is an expectation people must be passionate about one side or another. I care about my niece getting a hit in her softball game. In 50 years there will be people dying in the Middle East.
I believe the conflict will never end as well. But for some reason liberals and leftists think it will end soon. I think they're idiots.
As far as recency bias goes I agree and disagree. In the modern world it matters because we are conscious and can self reflect.
But then again you're right because the middle east is effectively unconscious rendering them trapped in set of beliefs that were handed down to them by philosophers and scholars.
That's the part people don't understand. The leaders of these movements are intellectuals.
There is a long long history of Islam vs modernity.
I think the civilized world should literally conquer and occupy the entire middle east. Boots on the ground all over the place arresting bad guys and bringing democracy and liberty by force.

Such an easy answer:
“ the deliberate killing of a large number of people from a particular nation or ethnic group with the aim of destroying that nation or group."a campaign of genocide"”
Do you think that is what Israel is doing?
Not sure that I care. Why do you care?
Why care? Too much to explain.
Then don’t ask the question. God bless
You asked me a question and I declined to answer.

That is just the vibe I get. Sorry.
Thank you for apologizing
