Why do people complain about holiday's when you get a day off?

Every time there is a holiday (US) where people get a day off, people always complains "why do we have to honor these people or that person or this religion" Literally no one is forcing you to say go down to a grave and honor a fallen soldier for Memorial Day. Like why are you complaining? I don't get it, do you not at the very least want a day off work to just chill and eat BBQ or do whatever you want???

For real, I couldn't believe all the topics here all weekend about whether it needs to be a holiday or not, etc. Soldiers who died fighting for their country getting a holiday is a debate? Like, seriously? And who is ill-affected by the holiday existing? You'd think it was a personal afront to them. Seems complaining about literally everything is a trend that' not going away.

I 100% agree. I don't want anymore stupid bs holidays but if they're accepted paid federal holidays I'm all for any of them. Gay holidays, black ones, Asian ones who cares, you don't have to work
