Anonymous(25-29)+1 yNope, I’m American. I personally do not connect with typical American views of thinking we’re the best at everything and that our “culture” is the best in the world. It’s not. In fact, the only thing that MAKES America great is literally that it combines ever culture in the world.
I remember traveling to Switzerland and Japan and loving how happy the people were and how polite and friendly people are. As compared to Americans who are quite ignorant and loud, Swiss and Japanese are quiet and considerate of others. Also how clean and valued the environment was, and people were judged on actions not race or prejudice. If I am to remain in America, my ideal states would be rural, northern states like Wyoming or The Dakotas where living is slow and close knit. But if I could sign my citizenship away to live in any other country I probably would.

You totally can sign away your citizenship though. . . just saying. It's not like you're trapped in America
Opinion Owner+1 y@MicahRaine Never said I was. But thanks.

I know, I'm just picking a bit of a bone with "if I could sign my citizenship away to live in any other country I probably would." You're implying that you can't right?
Opinion Owner+1 y@MicahRaine No I wasn’t.

I'm American and I agree with you. The country is very beautiful and interesting, but the people who live here completely ruin it. I hate that they're so self centered. Other nationalities I've met have been much more generous, polite and considerate of others. I also hate that Americans always have to do everything by book. In other countries people are more willing to bend the rules for you. And I hate that a lot of Americans are snitches and prudes, and they'll throw you under the bus to benefit themselves. And I hate how when you work in customer service, people can just walk all over you. I hate our hiring system. I hate our dating culture. I hate our obsession with the flag and military people. I hate how woke it's become and how certain groups get special treatment, but the average person seems to have no rights.
I agree that the cultural diversity is one of the positive things about America. I also think our customer service is the best in the world, but only if you're the customer. And I think our parks are great, and that the country in general is very tourist friendly. But overall, I think out culture and mentality is shit

+1 yI like it because I can experience so many different cultures and landscapes, but the people who live here have completely ruined it. I hate how Americans only look out after THEIR best interests and will use you/kick you down to get ahead. Also, it's crazy how sensitive they get about the flag and how they worship military like gods. And so many Americans have become angry and entitled. And they don't know how to mind their own business.
There's plenty of other reasons I dislike Americans and our government, but if i have to list all of them I'll be here forever.
Also, the American passport is quickly becoming not as strong as it used to be. I feel the entire world hates us, and I kins of don't blame them as I hate us. I just don't want people to immediately make assumptions about me as a person just because I'm American

My allied nation, that's kind of noticeably on my side.
Love my universal paid-by-pre-tax-money healthcare, high living standards, buildings being modern and sleek and well built and the infrastructure (except the internet) being top notch. It hosts premium comfort living as a standard. I love how we have people coming in ranging from America to Japan.
I have a feeling, that I'll fall in love with Thailand probably just as much.

I must say, I quite like the idea of being able to kick out your prime minister at any time if they're doing a shitty job. Here, we're stuck with the bastard for at least 4 years, unless they break the law. At least in California we're allowed to recall the governor.

@KostasKouvalis As shitty jobs go, Rishi Sunak really took the biscuit.
