1.3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. @thegreenyogi I love my country (USA) but I also love Rome, and the Amalfi Coast, and just about everywhere I have been in Italy. If I spoke fluent Italian, I might consider moving there.
I love my country as is and probably would not move anywhere as my country and State, California, has everything I desire. I can go skiing and scuba diving the same day if I choose, and I own my home in a great City, Huntington Beach, California.

4 moOkay so I am Indian living in India and I hope I can share my opinion freely because not many Indians are here to attack me.
What I like about my country is how it was, the culture was very open minded, men and women were given equal opportunity, making love wasn't seen as something vulgar and lustful but as something devotional (as described in Kama Sutra, by the way that book isn't only about different positions but it talks about how to lead a peaceful life in general, sexual content is a small part of that book), LGBTQ community wasn't alienated, women were not objectified. The rich culture and all. It was a progressing civilization. The history before any other empire.
And I love how mindful my country's constitution is, except that it is open minded at the cost of way too many loopholes which people exploit the hell out of. It is taken as a joke.
But I absolutely despise how it is now. Many citizens are so insecure to the point where they won't acknowledge drawbacks of India and it is bad because for improvement to take place you must acknowledge the existence of the problem. Many are closed minded. It is a hell for women especially, very patriarchal society. Most politicians are uneducated people who have no idea of what's going on. People who speak up right things and raise important questions are told to shut up and if they don't then their mouth is closed.
An influencer not wanting to take her husband's last name made it on news and was labelled as a rebel but a woman who recorded evidence of her SA was told that the recording is not an evidence because it was recorded without consent of the other party, how ironic. Everyday the front page of the news either has rape case and if in rare cases it doesn't then it is a murder case.
A guy who filed a case on his toxic wife for being an abuser was told by the female judge to shut up because apparently women are never wrong. That guy recorded a long youtube video of him saying everything important and handed all the paperwork to his family before suiciding but his justice is pending, misogynists are milking his case to prove all women are wench and no one actually cares about how hard life he must have lived to end it at a young age like that.
If you are a trans then it is confirmed for your parents to throw you on streets to live a life of begging and if your parents are saint enough to keep you, you are probably shamed by the society for it.
And civic sense is basically non existent for many.
And if you want to leave the country because it didn't treat you well, then you are a traitor to the society which by the way gossips about you behind your back.
If I say this on a platform where many Indians are present then I will be given death and disgusting threats.
Again I want to clarify not all Indians are like this but most of them are. Even if you belong to an open minded family with righteous thoughts no one can save you from society you live in.
30 Reply2.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I feel ambivalent.
It has declined by pretty much every metric since 20 years ago. It's overcrowded. We've let in 10 million, mostly foreigners. It is damp, miserable. You can often have an entirely overcast summer. House prices have probably doubled in real terms and are something like 7-9 times an income, depending on your area. During convid the bonkersness and authoritarianism really stepped up, but thankfully it wasn't as bad as it would have been if we had had a Labour government.
We had the best cultural exports, the best humour. Now having a sense of humour is a criminal offense.
On the plus side, we still have reasonable food standards. We're not as fat as America. We have a free health service. Excellent gig and music culture.
I'm not sure where else I would go to. All countries seem to be following a path of left-wing authoritarianism, globalism and destruction of Western cultures with mass migration. Somewhere warm maybe.
What do you think?
10 ReplyI love my country. I can't say everything about my country is perfect but despite the negative sides I still love my country. Isn't this also definition of love? Isn't this the difference between like and love? If you like something you know why you like something but love is unconditional. If you love anything under specific conditions this means you love nothing. There is a quote in Turkish about that. its English translation is like that "the one who loves the rose endures its thorns"
Happy International women's day to you by the way. you are a nice woman 😊

677 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I used to like living here, but I don't anymore. What's happening in this country is unbelievable and it's out of control. And the strange part of it is, being that you don't see it in front of your home, you don't think anything about it, or believe it. I do not like the fact that the country, with the help of its leader, has shown its true colors in terms of who likes who, who is preferred, what people think of one another. But then--that's how it always has been--the leader has managed to lift the curtain.
10 Reply6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. The USA. I'm a California boy.
I like the principles enshrined in the Declaration of Independence and the rights guaranteed by the Bill of Rights, including freedom to practice any religion or not, the right to free speech, to peacefully protest, and to own guns.
The Constitution and Bill of Rights have been degraded over the years but they are still the law of the land and make it possible to challenge oppression.
I like the USA because of its size, its amazing topography, biodiversity, and cultural diversity. There are thriving cities and wide open spaces. There is lots to do without ever leaving.
It is protected from invasion by oceans and is still one of the safest, most stable places in which to live.10 Reply- 715 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
4 moNot a fan of Canadian leadership at all. Liberals have run the country to the ground over the past 15 ish years. It looks nothing like the Canada I was raised in. Are there many countries in worse scenarios? Absolutely. That's why immigrants still want to come here for a better standard of life. But it doesn't mean we're not allowed to be discontent with the changes that have happened recently. The Canadian dream is dead here. Housing and food prices are ridiculously high. Work life sucks. Everything is just work work work. I hear so many immigrants come here and then complain about the fact that there's no life here.
I'm looking to move as soon as I can. I have places in mind that I've looked into quite a bit.12 Reply- 4 mo
Every country has its strengths and challenges, so I think appreciation often comes from focusing on the parts that make daily life meaningful , the people, the culture, and the small routines that become familiar.
Even if someone didn’t originally choose to live somewhere, over time it’s possible to find aspects of the place that feel comfortable or worth valuing.10 Reply- 1.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
4 moLove the country even with the disgusting group of lying thugs, criminals, greedy billionaires who happen to be running it for the moment. I feel things will reverse in the near future as all but a few total ass fuck morons are now beginning to see the big picture and realize they are not in it.
10 Reply 577 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I live where I live because I was born here, not because I have to.
That being said, I'm fine with where I live.
Why?
I'm an old man.
Even if I wanted to, it'd be extremely difficult for me to pack up and live somewhere else.
When I was younger, I thought that I might living in a tropical location, like Fiji or Tahiti, maybe, but that's just a fantasy type of thinking.10 Reply679 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. However, it's become a lot less pleasant, do the political situation and the constant fighting that has occurred. I often wish I could live in a different country where things were more peaceful.

I sure agree with your comment! Like me you and I would be considered relatively young, but I'm old enough to remember the first election period I remember which was the Bush/Gore in 2000 where it was really contentious and nothing has gotten better since then. My father speaks of a time when they might fight like hell until the election was over, but both parties would respect the winner and government got along much better with both parties working together. Something which just doesn't happen today sadly. What is next after this current buffoons term ends should be on the minds of us all.
u 4 moYes, it’s far away from the likes of wars, we rarely have gun violence due to weapons being illegal, the countryside is gorgeous and the air is (mostly) clean compared to big countries.

10 Reply1.3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. The country I am in is OK, people are sound and kind of remind me of my home country but the country of my passport is where I miss and the one I lived in before that are the best.
10 Reply3.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Yes, I like the high level of ethnic homogeneity. In Germany where I lived a while as child I found multiculturalism disgusting and despicable.

Maybe the state of El Salvador would be a good spot for you. Tell me more about your crude oil and gas prices this morning? I'm sure your wealth isn't changing like most of us because all of yours is under your mattress.
- 4 mo
@katiesmuff I would prefer Florida or the Carolinas. Gas prices are still a bargain compared to over 5 bucks a gallon a couple of years ago
- 4 mo
Well we don't want you in Florida and just so you know our gas prices have risen 50 -55 cents a gallon over the last 8 days thanks to your ass sucking friend. Possibly we could find a space for you somewhere down around the everglades.

@katiesmuff my best friend moved to North Carolina and said I would fit right in.

I wish you the best over there!

Florida already has it's share of retards and sure doesn't need anymore. We would rather send your pedifle best friend to you wherever the fuck you are.

@katiesmuff And yet yo have one of the best Governors in the country, Somebody must have voted for him.
- 4 mo
You sure as hell have not heard him running his mouth about all the shit thumpy has been up too. Would not surprise me since he cannot run for governor again he has plans to try for the 28 nomination for republican Presidential candidate. Staying quiet and out all the current turmoil saves him from the fallout when all this current stuff fails. I'd bet we will still have troops in Iran in 2028 which is going to have a very unhappy country as the bodies continue to be shipped home.
- 4 mo
@katiesmuff The military action in Iran will be over next week. So will Jr. Ayatollah. .

Anonymous(25-29)4 moI love America. The boys are hot. I am enjoying my dating life here than I did before in another country. They make me cum in a minute. They’re breaking records. American boy’s natural beauty can’t go unnoticed. He has those piercing blue eyes and a big dick. I think I’m in love with the weather too. I’m surrounded by greatness everywhere I go. It makes me nervous because I feel like a human walking among gods.
