What do you think of cancel culture?

I think honestly it’s something always existed in human history: every culture tries to cancel or to hide things they think they’ll harm or they don’t suit the actual mainstream way of thinking. Think about history, it’s written by winners of wars, not by those who lose. And those who lose memory is cancelled or lessened. Think about ancient regimes cancelling people or things didn’t follow the glorious image they wanted to transmit.


Aside from that, nowadays cancel culture goes way beyond what I previously said, since it starts from the people: some brain washed people think that cancelling history makes us better since they pretend to see historical events with nowadays eyes and morality, that’s unfair and illogical. Historical events have happened in times when morality and ways of thinking were different from today’s.
For example, It’s pretty obvious slavery nowadays is a crime, but it wasn’t in 1600. So why give damnatio memoriae to our ancestors who promoted slavery if they just lived their time? I’m not saying they weren’t committing a crime, they just don’t have to be cancelled for that.
