If you were approaching a bathroom that locks and requires a simple numeric code to enter, and someone was standing there punching in a failing code, would you give them the right code?

Construction workers are still treated like third class citizens. We build your bathrooms but have to use portajohns. We build your break rooms but have to eat outside. We install your pipes but have to use waterless hand cleaners. We pave your parking lots but have to park in the dirt lot a mile away.
In an attempt to keep the riffraff out of our fine running water facilities, a bathroom door on which the lock was busted for years was finally repaired. So i walk up to the newly locking bathroom door to find a grown man doing the peepee dance and hoping i would sympathize. What do you think i did?
What would you do?

Nah. Here’s the thing, we’re not the animals everyone thinks we are, and most of us deliberately hold ourselves to a higher standard because of it. You’d only be justifying the ignorance by doing that. And if it resulted in further marginalization, you’d have a reckoning in the parking lot with your coworkers.
