Gorilla tactics work. See Vietnam and remember Vietnam if your government becomes rogue.

I’m pro human life in terms of gun violence, look at the Orlando Club Shooting, the Uvalde School Shooting, Parkland School Shooting, Sandy Hook School Shooting, etc.

Then when you look at the gun purchase rates, they’ve dropped among new first time purchasers however the people that already own a gun are the ones stocking up. I believe we can do an AR15 banning further future purchase without taking away guns (no one has proposed that part) AND mental health background checks, tests, license acquirements, mandatory training, etc. We put restrictions on aircraft like removing your shoes, no knives or guns, checkpoints, etc. We put restrictions on cars like license to drive, for certain vehicles you need to meet certain requirements, DMV, etc. so why not for guns especially to prevent suicide & mass shootings? Enough is enough.

When we talk about universal background checks we want a NATIONAL standard, if a gun store sells to a mass shooter the families can hold them civilly liable for the damage caused which will make them test more in the mental health area & obviously their capabilities to be trusted with said firearm. Enough is enough.

Spend a month under Putin’s regime and you’ll see how warm and cozy it is when your ideals are part of the authoritarian govt. No gays, “pure blooded whites”, and the cities are SOOO CLEAN or at least that is what the ‘useful idiots’ say.

I think when that whole stuff about the right to bear arms was written, they hadn't envisaged the existence of rocket launchers, tanks, etc.
Logically speaking, if it was supposed to work the way it was originally intended then any American citizen should legally be allowed to drive a tank up to the White House and shell it to the ground.
As it stands, I think it would be difficult for America to overthrow its corrupt government because the guys with the biggest guns will generally side with the ones signing their paycheques.

BUT I fully encourage you guys to try.

The Vietnamese weren’t fighting their own military, they were fighting the US military of their own soil. The Taliban had support from the US military. Maybe learn basic history before citing it

      1. The nationality of the opponents and their homes doesn't make a difference in fighting a gorilla force. Plenty of revolutions happened with gorilla forces.

      2. And the US citizenry has plenty of armament as well. Besides, the Taliban is not the only insurgent group to give the USA plenty of trouble.

Cute assumption but I did learn basic history.

You're what's wrong with America today. Your parents didn't teach you any respect for our military. Only a willfully ignorant and intellectually lazy individual would refer to our Navy Seals as "gravy seals".

I hope one day that you directly have a need for our military to help/save you and they just turn their backs on you.

Not only do you deserve a smack in the mouth, but your mother also does for not swallowing you the night you were conceived.

The Vietnam War and the War on Terror were not won; instead, the US surrendered.

We are discussing the US Civil War on US soil. The US government will not surrender on US soil and will not lose any land.

Use your guerrilla tactics all you want and be bombed by drones. Everyone has to learn to fly a drone for the first time, and on US soil, if there is any doubt as to whether there is a legitimate civil war, that area will be bombed 48 times every 24 hours.

Yes, millions of individuals with small arms but dedicated to the country and able to advance at a moments notice would be almost unstoppable. Add to that that most of the military support President Trump and would never fire on fellow citizens it is no wonder democrats are getting desperate

Tbh, he’s right. This is a clear issue. Just like voters are swayed against the death tax because they think they’re going to be millionaires…. Citizens also think wrongly their guns will defend against a tyrannical US govt.

“If it’s to take on government if we get out of line, which they’re talking again about — well, guess what? They need F-15s. They don’t need a rifle. (Laughter.)”

@OddBeMe I think you have just made the most salient point of this whole discussion. The escalation of responding to terrorism by waging full out war, not even hitting the intended target, but killing thousands and thousands of innocent civilians instead (babies, included, for God's sake!) is what you get when some world "leader" gets trigger happy. Bush single handedly started this whole current mess and Netanyahu is ensuring it continues. Instead of blowing up everything in an effort to impress that particular politician's public in search of more votes or exacting personal vengeance , let's train and promote more special forces units who are uniquely capable of striking with speed and precision at terrorist groups while greatly limiting the amount of "collateral damage," being the deaths of non combatants.

@Caroline91 that's just.. not true though xD

"Israel Defense Forces had killed more than 14,000 terrorists and approximately 16,000 civilians since the outbreak of the war on Oct. 7.

“Israel is setting the new gold standard for urban warfare with what appears to be the lowest civilian-to-combatant casualty ratio in history,” stated Hyman.

Last week, the United Nations admitted it overcounted the number of Gazan children who have been confirmed killed in the war by a staggering 42%.

In March, the U. N. Children’s Fund stated that 13,450 children had been killed, citing figures from the Hamas-run Gazan Health Ministry. Last Wednesday, the U. N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) released updated casualty figures according to which 7,797 Gazan children have died in the war as of April 30."

42% fewer children killed. As a mother, myself, that's still unacceptable. I didn't say anything about numbers, other than thousands. What is happening in Gaza right now is equivalent to a turkey shoot. Those people have nowhere to go and the Israeli government keeps telling them go here, go there, go south then bombs where they are told to go for safety. Do you think the world would stand for it for 10 minutes if this were being done to Israel instead? You bet they wouldn't, nor should we. The link you provide for your information? JNS... Jewish News Source... What do you suppose their bias might be? I mean, Netanyahu is quoted as one of the sources for the information given in the article. That should tell you something. I'm not saying, by any means that Israel is not justified in taking action after the horrendous attack on their citizens. They have to take action. I believe there should be a concerted effort by a world coalition to go after and continue to go after terrorists until no country in the world ever suffers another 9/11 or 10/7. We just have to learn how to do it more effectively. Can anyone really argue with that? Because, really, I think we are all on the same side on this. We all just want it to stop.

When the US invaded Afghanistan in 2000, we routed the Taliban. After that it was the US assisting the Afghan gov fighting in a civil war. US military action was limited. WWII showed what the US military is capable of if we go full tilt.

If there's a rebellion in the US, and the US military stays on the side of the gov, the rebels won't last long
