The real numbers are probably closer to even. I couldn’t find it, but on another episode he points to another poll that indicates that nearly half of all voters, democrats AND republicans, think the country would be better off if their political opponents were dead. There’s no evidence to suggest that the democripps and rebloodlicans will ever deescalate for peace and prosperity. So should we just do the national divorce? Or should we just murder each other? How should we end the seemingly endless bickering and hateful escalation?
People who are driven and led by fear and control will always see war and elimination as the only options, because they cannot see past those drivers. I used to be exactly the same way, and then I realized that my motivation was fear and control, not compassion or love or even freedom. I didn't care about people, I cared about my people. The ones on my team were the only ones that were human. Everyone else was less. I felt deep shame and couldn't believe the person I had teetered on the edge of becoming. That's when I came to my senses.
This is how genocide happens. War is horrific and there are no rules. I'll take our flawed system any day of the week over roving gangs of marauders and the risk of civilian slaughter. It is in the best interest of everyone to step back and take a good look at themselves and what they truly believe. If we can teach people to develop dialectical thought in the formation of views and opinions, they will be less easily moved into conflict with opposing views because they will have the ability to create a third agreeable option.
I think Americans need to leave their bubbles more often. Get away from your echo chambers. Maybe actually talk to each other. Show some empathy. Ignore the fringe elements that just seek to cause chaos. Turn off Fox or MSNBC for a while. You may find out how much you all have in common. Most Americans worry about the same problems. The solutions are what you bicker about... but even there I am sure there are area of compromise.
We are Americans and we stand by our flag, our pledge, our Nation and NONE of us are willing to jeopardize it for the sake of partisan bullsh*t. I don’t put politicians above my family, I don’t put political beliefs over my family, and I don’t put Trump or Biden over my family. A civil war would be catastrophic towards the economy, something our enemies like China & Russia would want so they can dominate the world and control the future in their image, innocent American lives would be lost, and it would come at the cost of Far Left & Far Right. Enough is enough, put down your beliefs for one second and actually think.

I am a conservative and think we need a national divorce. We divide into East America and West America. We build a wall along the Mississippi River to keep the liberals out when they run out of food.
It's not a clear geographic divide. It's mostly a rural/urban divide. In North Carolina, Raleigh-Durham and Charlotte are majority Democratic but Republican gerrymandering keeps them in power. Atlanta, Miami, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Houston, El Paso, and Phoenix are majority Democratic.

They managed to get an almost 50/50 split, changing back and forth from democrats to republicans which are doing exactly the same politics and people can comfortably blame "the others" otherwise they would see the bullshit they have to endure and actually vote for change. While big money is put into the politicians pockets.
A peaceful partition of the country would be in all of our best interests (not that the leftist state that would emerge from that partition would simply leave the other state alone).
A "National divorce" is literally impossible so this a complete non-starter. It can't happen, won't happen so dont even bother portray it as a realistic or even sane suggestion. May as well imagine waking up and fighting zombies since that at least has a "realistic" possibility in comparison to this nonsense.
If all the Left-Wing Americans and all the Right-Wing Americans fought to the death, hopefully only the moderately reasonable Americans would be left by the end. That would be an ideal outcome.
