What the MSM and public education has done with kids is akin to how cults operate. Give people a sense of "us against them," we have the moral high ground, and a strong sense of group identity, and the partisanship becomes very sharp.
Media. Literally, a one-word answer, our media has been turned into a propaganda machine. I just answered a question from somewhere else about the 10 year old that went to another state for an abortion... and l'm not joking most of the people there have no idea that it was 100% legal in her state and it was just turned into a story to rile people up... no idea it was an illegal immigrant either. That's just an example of how it works... they manufacture the story to look a certain way and then have a band camp of people getting all flustered and fizzed up with emotions.
It's getting close to mid-terms thus every school shooting that isn't a black guy gets all over the television right now. Even though school shootings are an everyday thing... it's just harder to find them not being black.
I think this country is going to just get more and more sharply divided unless the media (cable news mainly) gets BTFO'd out of doing what they've been doing.
Division and outrage sell a lot of shit.
Also, division keeps the people too distracted and burnt out (along with rising inflation, increasing inequality, continuing backstepping of progress, etc) to fight for their own interests.
Corporate oligarchies make more money when Americans buy into the whole political circus.
It's all too much, frankly. I used to be liberal leaning, but as the years have gone by, it's become clear to me that bitterness is so widespread that it's better to stick to what you can find.
Don't be resentful, bitter, or angry. Life is tragic; don't make it hell.
(More wise words that I got from a friend).

It’s pretty much as @Smashingdoozy says, the US does not really have a spectrum of politics.
both parties are pretty much right of centre.
If you compare to other countries, they have actual left wing parties, from left of centre to far left.
They also tend to have a number of parties, this stops or reduces polarisation.
US Politics is a bit like Hitler and Mussolini getting into an argument.
Also it’s spoilers the rhetoric used by both parties if they admitted both actually sit on the right hand side of the see saw.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/6LPuKVG1teQIt really started during the Obama administration. People were divided by race and other criteria. white people were identified as racist and conservatives were labelled as Nazis. The police and military were denigrated as well.
As in nature, every action has an equal but opposite reaction and it further divided the country. When Trump was elected , democrats saw it as a threat to their power and used every opportunity to disrespect the president including two unfounded impeachment attempts. Newton's Third Law took effect again and that is how we are in this situation which is really one step away from a civil war.
It's so ingrained into the culture, more than ever now seemingly. Maybe also has something to do with just how right wing both sides are. People think that Biden is left but in reality he is just slightly to the left of republicans in the same conservative box. That side of politics comes with a lot of hatefulness.
Did you just accuse conservatives of “hatefulness”?
“That side of politics...”
You know what? Go suck shit. There’s your hatefulness. 🤷♂️
@Agagagagaga yep there it is.
yeah its almost like if you continually malign, insult and talk down to some one, they might start to hate you. isn't that crazy.
@Hogoblin_of_Venice did you just walk right into the point and miss it
What, you expect me to kiss your ass and tell you that you’re a good person after you just claimed half the nation is hateful?
No one likes to be condescended to, but Liberals make it their goddamn standard operating procedure. We’re all hateful gun toting red neck white supremacist bigots intent on overthrowing democracy.
And you think conservatives are the ones peddling hate? Wake up kid. Wake the fuck up.
@Agagagagaga nope but it's hilarious how defensive you are.
Nothing like having your point proven for you! LOL
You just said Biden is slightly left of republicans, your words. No he isn't he is left on every leftist talking point except some financial kookery like universal basic income and has flirted with student loan forgivness. and thats pretty obvious to anyone who isn't a left wing extremist, which gee I wonder if you are.
@Hogoblin_of_Venice you don't know what true left is. The party has left opinions but overall they are very conservative.
Most countries that you would say are left governed are actually center left.
It os bu design. A great way to gain a better understanding of how politicians created this dynamic, is to read the 50 laws of power, and art of seduction by Robert Greene. In a nutshell, politicians manipulate human psychology to gain votes, and the tactics they use have consequences that continue to affect the way we view politics as a whole.
American politics has become spoiled, and act like 6yr Olds.
Very few arguments are about what they truly believe, but trying to prove their party is better than the other party.
It reminds me of 2 kids on the playground arguing about my daddy can beat up your daddy.
we are living through a time of political populism, it is predominantly opinion based politics in which either side villifies the opponent for being some kind of enemy to garner support, it works, very well, too well and creates a very polarised society where people hate each other over typically banal ideas but because it resonates with their own opinions.
Well, there's one side that wants America to succeed, victims of crime to be at an advantage against perpetrators and for our sovereignty to be secured.
Then there's a side that wants America to burn, ensure that only victims are punished and perpetrators are celebrated, and they want to nuke our sovereignty and give it to foreign nations that want us all dead. So of course there's division
Because both political parties literally paint the other one as destroying the country they hold dear. Democrats are socialist commies who hate freedom, guns, and god. Republicans are war-hungry wannabe proto-fascists who hate minority groups and immigrants.
With rhetoric like that, no wonder it becomes unimaginable to vote for the opposition. I was being generous with the rhetoric too.
Because there is no middle ground anymore. More than 70 years of marxist indoctrination pulled the people to either the far left or the far right no matter how you define these two terms. Milo Yannopoulos is a gay jew who sucks black men and they call him a nazi.
Polarization and misinformation, wealth inequality and political corruption, degradation of the economy and corporate concentration, climate change and globalization, the internet making source less information and echo chambers more rampant, I mean the options are endless for describing why the political climate in the US is the way it is.
because that's what politicians want... to keep people divided and distracted while they all get richer and richer and more in control on both sides, red or blue doesn't matter they're all the same rich boat
For the right, it seems that the left has gained enough power to actually be a threat to our traditional way of life. The left worries the more traditional right will stop their advances. Both sides see the other as an existential threat to their preferred way of life and values and are willing to fight over it. Since you can't have a rational discussion with the Left, eventually, I believe, it will devolve into a shooting war. Fortunately, the right has most of the guns.
It's called Soft Totalitarianism. Read about it. Basically, it's easier and more profitable to express rage that to conduct thoughtful discourse.
Social media. It's good for their ad revenue to increase engagement, and the statisically best way to keep people engaged is to radicalise them and give them something to be angry about.
It's been engineered in order to nullify the western middle class, as they're the ones most likely to resist a totalitarian millitary world government which wants to cull the majority of the population.
Mission accomplished for the most part.
The deep state is being destroyed, so they released their minions to attack America in an attempt to delay the advance. You're at war... Wake up.
We have a bunch of dumbshit, overly emotional people who take their own opinions way too seriously, and we've decided to let them have a say in how our country runs.
What could go wrong?
I think a lot of it is the idea that if you agree with me on one issue you must agree with me on all issues. Contrarily if you disagree with me on one issue you are ______ and worthy of scorn.
That two party system. It comes automatically with the built in function of "If you're not with me, you're against me."
Psssh go to Turkey or Egypt then come back talk about the States.
@Rania05 the question is about why there are divides. Americans they think they argue about politics. They haven't seen people argue about politics until you've seen Egyptians argue about politics. Also, when isn't there something going on?
@Rania05 American women's voting rights are not in question.
And there are legal challenges in courts right now attempting to safeguard abortion choice. This stuff is going to be in the courts for years. It's a violation of privacy rights and SO against the US Constitution as to be absurd.
@Screenwriter key word passionate disagreements.
@DermalPunch I seen video from Jordania where two politicians after started arguing they started demolising the table and playing it like tug of war :D So I know what you're talking about
@Screenwriter And abortion is violating the right to life.
@Cubus It is not violating THE right to life. It allows women to choose when they want to continue a pregnancy and therefore have the same body autonomy as men. No woman should be forced to continue a pregnancy she does not want. No woman should be forced to have a baby to support someone else's religious convictions or need to have a child they couldn't bear themselves. Pregnancy should not be a punishment for having sex, or having birth control that fails because there is no 100% perfect birth control and there are no 100% perfect users of birth control. This all has to do with the across the board LACK of sex education in public and private schools and parents who are in denial about their children reaching sexual maturity, curiosity and practice. Just say no is a ridiculous stance that directly leads to unwanted pregnancies and there is no thorough support for young, uneducated women to have and raise children. There is also no need to traumatize a woman by forcing her to have a child she gives up for adoption, as if she's brood mare;
Children who enter the foster care system are practically doomed to second-class lives and half of the people in penal institutions were raised in the foster care system.
Unless states provide 18 years of QUALITY aid to young, pregnant women: housing, education, food stamps, cash, child care-- they have no leg to stand on in this argument. There are no private religious or secular organizations that provide such support.
@Screenwriter 1. No one forces you. Women can choose when they get pregnant (unless it's a rape).
2. Why do you think it's about religion? It's scientificaly proven that a fertilised egg has a different DNA than mother or father. It's already a different organism. There's nothing religious about it. Only science.
3. Pregnancy is not a punishment for sex, it's a natural implification. The same as you get wet, if you go out, when it's raining.
4. You are wrong. My country doesn't have sex education, and we have much less teenage pregnancies than countries who have one (and most of them are in biggest cities, which are more left wing).
@Cubus And you were not listening. There are birth control FAILURES ALL THE TIME because birth control is not 100 percent and certain birth control is more like 70 percent, a large margin of error and human beings take chances when they're young that they would never take when older because they REALIZE THE REPERCUSSIONS of such risky behavior.
Maybe in your country parents TALK to their children about sex before they're sexually active. Doesn't happen so much in US. Parents think if they IGNORE it, sex will go away. It never does.
Pregnancy is a consequence of sexual intercourse, but birth is not inevitable and abortion is another method of birth control. NOT THE BEST, but the last ditch. I'm not a champion of it. I think, often, people are careless in their use of birth control or use NONE at all and HOPE. It's foolish. But this is because of MAGICAL THINKING, which occurs because children are NOT EDUCATED. Ignorance is awful.
@Screenwriter 1. They don't talk at all. My parents never talked with me about it. Teenagers here just don't have sex and are focused on school.
2. Nope, it's not birth control. Birth control PREVENTS life from being created and abortion kills it. There's a difference between stoping a fire of a house and preventing a house from setting on fire.
3. I suggest not having sex if you cannot afford a child - 100% effective :)
@Cubus Now YOU ARE ENGAGING in MAGICAL THINKING. People have sex because they are lonely, they want to scratch an itch, they are attracted to another person, they are in love and 100 other reasons. SUGGESTING that people NOT have sex is unrealistic. It is NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. So, there needs to be all manner of birth control. An embryo could be a potential person months in the future. We all know this. But since only women can grow an embryo into a viable human it is up to the person carrying that embryo what they're going to do with that potential person. Men are NEVER IN THIS POSITION and can never have their lives and bodies altered by carrying and birthing a child and then RAISING IT! It is a giant commitment that needs to be divorced from sex as pleasure and recreation, which sex IS.
That is my main argument. A fertilized egg and embryo can only live if a woman decides to be a mother to that embryo, fetus, baby, or decides to birth it to deliver it into the hands of someone who wishes to adopt or foster it. And you cannot FORCE YOUR MORALITY on someone who does not choose it.
It is not immoral to have sex or to choose abortion, In fact it is emimently moral to choose NOT TO HAVE A CHILD WHEN YOU ARE NOT EMOTIONALLY, FINANCIALLY and SITUATIONALLY ready.
Most women who choose abortions are SINGLE, in their mid to late 20s and POOR. Most ALSO ALREADY HAVE A CHILD. Most have NEVER HAD AN ABORTION and most WERE USING BIRTH CONTROL and that birth control FAILED.
This is the HOLIER THAN THOU argument that is presented all the time. How about the woman's life and the life of her child that's already here? How about the fact that she can't afford another child, or to quit her job that supports her, or to move into a larger apartment and to pay more rent and all the financial burdens that occur when a new baby comes into the world? Or she's in school AND working...
There exist no supports for women like this, some of whom MIGHT want to keep the child. Therefore they choose abortion. And it should be available for those many, many reasons.
Saying people should stop having sex is like saying the rain should stop falling. It can't be done. That is why there are 8 billion people on this planet. Let's take care of the people who are HERE and stop moralizing about the ones who could potentially be here, but aren't because of abortion choice.
Women should have the same freedom as men to walk away from bearing and raising a child. The fact that men and people who can no longer bear children want to rule over those who still can is the height of unfairness. Safe, effective birth control of ALL kinds is necessary. It doesn't have to PLEASE you. It has to please and support those who USE it.
And women deserve the right to privacy. Abortion is a medical procedure. No one should litigate it or prevent anyone from doing it. This all has to do with it concerning SEX. And the old, you've made your bed (you're having sex), now you have to lie in it (you've gotten pregnant, so you're STUCK).
This is what I mean about pregnancy being a punishment for sex. It's, you have sex, you should be prepared to be a parent. This is ABSURD. Parenting is something people look FORWARD to and PLAN for and celebrate. Not an "accident," or a birth control failure.
I've volunteered at Planned Parenthood and a friend worked at such a clinic. The people who went there were using birth control. But people make errors, don't use backup when taking certain medications, forget their birth control... There are thousands of reasons because we are human.
Realistic expectations and safeguards should always be in place.
@Screenwriter You know that men have "opportunity to walk away from responsibility" because of sexual revolution, right. This is what screwed everything up.
@Screenwriter Right to pregnancy has no law effect if it violates someone else's right to life which abortion does. It's called "collision rules"
@Screenwriter "An embryo could be a potential person months in the future. We all know this. "
Personhood is properly defined by membership in the human species, not by stage of development within that species.
"People have sex because they are lonely, they want to scratch an itch, they are attracted to another person, they are in love and 100 other reasons."
The comparison between a babys rights and a mothers rights is unequal. What is at stake in abortion is the mothers lifestyle, as opposed to the babys life.
"That is my main argument. A fertilized egg and embryo can only live if a woman decides to be a mother to that embryo, fetus, baby"
The one-time choice of abortion robs someone else of a lifetime of choices and prevents him/her from ever exercising his/her rights.
"And you cannot FORCE YOUR MORALITY on someone who does not choose it."
Any civilized society restricts the individuals freedom to choose whenever that choice would harm an innocent person.
"Most women who choose abortions are SINGLE, in their mid to late 20s and POOR. Most ALSO ALREADY HAVE A CHILD. Most have NEVER HAD AN ABORTION and most WERE USING BIRTH CONTROL and that birth control FAILED"
The rich, not the poor, are most committed to unrestricted abortion.
"And women deserve the right to privacy"
US constitution doesn't contain the right to privacy.
Probably because American political parties are extremely polarised when it comes to political positions (in comparision to f. e. Europe).
Because that's what the propagandists have trained us to think. That people on the other side are evil.
It gets this way before the four horseman make another round.
People dislike change, especially rapid change.
Democrat voters are enemies of the USA plain and simple. They should be hunted down.
too many different types of people allowed in at once. diversity divides
The simplest answer is history repeats itself if we fail to learn from it.
Most people are morons
Cause Liberals are insane
systematic white supremacy
Tribalism 🤷♀️
Beacause it’s usa
