Why do humans allow politics to divide us so much?

Politics is ALL bs. Doesn’t matter if they’re left, right, up, or down NONE of these people actually give a fuck about us. I truly am sick of all of the divide and hate. Let me fill you in on a little secret you guys: politics does NOT affect your life. You just like to THINK that it does. If you stop paying attention to it, you’ll begin to notice that politics exists for a reason that is very much misleading.

It comes down to people in cults that if you disagree with me on anything you’re a right winger or a left winger. In reality nobody agrees all the time however when someone’s polar opposites it can create issues. If someone’s extreme pro life and someone else extreme pro choice that can come down to a morality divide. A sensitive issue where both people accuse the other of being a horrible person.

Identity politics is more recent. It used to be the same thing, but with religion. People argued religion back in the days there were less people that cared about politics, but then identity politics became the new religion.

In the USA the political climate is very polarizing, but if you move out of there you'll notice it is less of a problem in other countries. But the political climate in those other countries, so be careful which one you choose to move to.

Would you like someone making assumptions about you based solely on your political views? No, I don’t think so. Political leanings are not correct or incorrect either way. They’re developed through our personal life experiences, and what we view as what is most valuable for us. Just because a person is different than you doesn’t mean that they are wrong.

People can tell a lot about me by my political views if they are able to read people and I never someone being different than me makes them wrong. If they are wrong they are wrong.

No, that’s too broad to know if they are bad people. I’d have to hear their individual political views particularly when it comes to social issues

I probably lean a little right, but there’s many social issues that I identify with the left on. I believe that the death penalty is wrong, I’m okay with women having access to abortion, and I also believe marijuana should be legal nationwide.
